I. LOVE. THIS. SO. MUCH. Seriously, as a beginner I can't thank you enough!!! <3 I was searching forever for an easy to understand character video for blender beginner - and this one is perfect, it was so easy to follow since you explained everything SO SO well. Also, your voice is so chill! It helps a lot with the process - so again: THANK YOU FOR DOING THIS! You're amazing!!! <3 Btw, are you planning on uploading part 2 as well? Made it to the end! Very easy to follow and very helpful! It was my first character modeling in blender and it really restored my faith and confidence in something that I was so afraid to try. With allowing beginners to practice good typology and explaining things through the simple narrations, you really deserve so much credit for this, thank you! P.s. Do we have to apply the solidify modifiers to the parts of the shoes and socks as well?

0:55 Hi!! I notice that you use draw sharp tool to directly create a hole for the eye instead of doing the poly modeling technique where you work with the vertices. Does this make the topology more complicated and you get a high poly result?? Does doing sculpting make the character harder to rig and animate?? Im new to blender and im sooo lost idk if it’s better to make heads by 3D sculpting or poly modeling. Pls give me some advice! (Amazing channel btw u just earned a subscriber ❤)
@maoly_studioАй бұрын
Hiii ! First thanks for your message that is really sweet !💜 This was one of the first method I used to create character and at time time I find it useful to create the eyes hole directly with the sculpting mode ! But yes when create sculpting method it's going to give you a very high poly character (which isn't the best for rendering and animating!!) So if you want to use this method and then animate the character doing retopology is a must ! (in my video "BLENDER TIMELAPSE - CUTE WINTER CHARACTER" at 12:24 I'm doing the retopology of a face that looks like the one on this tutorial, if you want to see what it can look like!) Most of the time the sculpting method is great when you want to add details to the mesh (either it's for character or objects) but doing the retopology right after is a must. Now that I've created lots of characters (with sculpting & modeling) I think for beginners it's better to use the poly modeling method (but with this method it's also harder to have a perfect topology 😅) ( I also made a tutorial on how to make a face with just the modeling tools "Modeling face in blender WITHOUT SCULPTING" if it can help !) I hope I have answer your question 🥺 don't hesitate if you have more questions !!

@maoly_studio5 ай бұрын
I’m not sure to understand the problem but the bottom haven’t disappeared i think it’s just that since we are seeing it from the top and since it’s just a plane we can’t really see it even if it’s there. For the loop problem be careful that your mirror modifier is before your subdivision modifier
