Failed to paint the fascia and eve boards first??? All and any gutter back edges should go behind the drip edge. The fascia will rot out quickly if not painted as moisture will be trapped behind the gutter back edge and fascia.
@BurtBowers23 күн бұрын
Explain how you put the back of gutter under drip edge when there is the gutter bracket that would stop the back of gutter going behind drip edge, you may get 3/4" or less under the drip edge being the L bending bracket with screw will stop from going up as I said 3/4" at most, some people run back of gutter in front of drip edge to just under the shingles to keep water hitting the fascia boards which realistically is the only way to protect the fascia boards being can't go up high in back of drip edge.

You should have shown the audience the other side of the joined pieces at 7:02 . Also at 8:08 you can see the bit is cutting the hair line on the face of lumber which ends up 2" snipped groove at 8:16 . (Tap the blue min:sec to see the snapshot)

Thanks Juan! I don't have all the fancy tools you do, but I built this exact door (mine was 53" wide x 82" tall) and it really looks terrific! Wish I could upload a photo. I used a different barn door slide - (exterior grade, also natively 12 feet long, with a slide guide on the floor to prevent front-to-back movement). And I installed whisker strips at the edges to help keep out bugs and mice. My shed has a cantilevered roof over the door, so I'm not worried about water entering. I appreciate your thorough guidance in this vid!

This was my thinking. What kit did you get for exterior grade, and what whisker strips did you use? Did you come up with a lock solution?
@codiesmth5 ай бұрын
@@nfgojags1 I used the SmartStandard system (Amazon), and upgraded the floor guide to their adjustable roller guides. My yard is on the side of a hill, so the shed is built on its own deck (to make it level). The door area has a 4 foot roof over it. So while I couldn't find a barn door system that was fully rated for outdoors, the one I selected is more industrial grade and easier to weatherproof. Whisker strips - technically door sweeps - I ordered the sizes I needed from DK hardware. Lock - Any regular padlock hasp will do. I mounted it to the back of the door so that the hinged plate sticks out the side and nicely hits the catch. Easy.

Nice, but you probably just need fascia aluminum all the way around under the edge of the roof. That wood will be fully exposed.

Thanks for posting this. I have been looking for unique wood inlay templates and could not find much of a selection from the usual woodworking sources. I knew some clever person with a unused cnc would produce some. I’m checking out slab stitcher currently.

I imagine this is very floppy in the wind maybe noisy too? Also if you grab it from the bottom I bet you can bend it real easy enough to enter using the doors leverage and probably won't make any noise doing it either.

Them gutters weren’t leveled right .....I’m not here to bash but the water needs to run to the down spout and that was a lot of silicone caulk that’s was a lot of pile up at the seem that’ll act like a gold pan and shingles are coated in a corse rock like materials that are heavy sometimes so what happens is you get build up in those spots and it can bust the seem
