Red-Haired Alibi
I downloaded this movie in low quality SD from the Archive and upscaled to FHD using AI, with 50% facial enhancement for added detail.
After restoring the black-and-white version, I colorized it with soft AI settings, adjusting saturation to reduce red flashes and create a smoother viewing experience.
🔹 Note: Colorization is never perfect, and you may notice occasional red flashes or minor color inconsistencies. For an optimal experience, the original black-and-white version is also included.
The full restoration process took just under 17 hours to complete.
A short clip at the beginning highlights the restoration work. Skip to 00:05:14 for the black-and-white version or 01:12:55 for the colorized version.
"Red-Haired Alibi (1932), directed by Christy Cabanne, stars Merna Kennedy, Theodore von Eltz, and Grant Withers. The film follows Lynn Monith (Kennedy), a young woman who moves to the big city seeking a fresh start. She accepts a seemingly innocent job as a companion for a wealthy man named Trent Travers (von Eltz). Unbeknownst to her, Travers is a notorious gangster embroiled in criminal activities. As Lynn becomes entangled in his dark world, she faces moral dilemmas and growing danger. A gripping pre-Code crime drama, Red-Haired Alibi blends suspense, romance, and a touch of mystery in its portrayal of urban corruption."
