1:46: I second that. Blind bags or boxes are fun at first but once you get duplicates it gets frustrating. Unless you get troop builders for example. I remember the Star Wars Micro Machines blind bags from 2015-2016, those and the Tiny Turbo Changers were the only blind bag series I went all in on for some time. If you get five X-Wings that’s great as you can make a fleet, but if you get two Jabba’s not so much.

Definitely prefer the Metal Chest variant. For the longest time I only had the Plastic but this year I finally upgraded to Metal Chest Protectobots.

It's been years since I had G1 Hot Spot, and I believe I had the plastic chest variant that's featured here.

I do know that the Revenge of the Fallen Leader Class Megatron figure was more based on the concept art for Megatron than the one seen in the actual movie, but it still captures the spirit and it's not inaccurate to the point where it's a huge problem (to me) and it's still a really cool toy that's very big, streamlined, nostalgic, and effortlessly fun. Much like the original G1 Megatron toy, it does have some differences to the design shown on-screen, but it still feels just as cool, the engineering is great (and rather befitting for the kind of robot it represents), and the gimmicks make sense for the character.

The ones I want the most are Tracks, Soundwave & cassettes, Swoop and Mirage. Sideswipe would probably look good too, but I think if they did Prowl & Jazz, there are a few issues they'd need to fix like a dummy sculpted head, butterfly-joint shoulders and preventing the car roof on their backs from hanging down/protruding too far. If they did, they'd have my money.

Looks like the head is still mounted further back on his body then it should be, so this and the proportions always put me off the original toy. If they'd shortened his arms and lengthened his legs a bit, I'd probably grab this. Seems as though they're going more for box-art accuracy then anything, flaws & all.

They should commission of version of Metroplex that turns into the power station. Those iconic shoulder cannons on a true exclusive, like Hamleys would do.

Transformers G1 hot spot plastic chest

My dream shop and yet nothing it in I actually want to buy. Odd feeling. Was that the GI Joe kickstarter? Haven't had mine yet. So often, you see these videos, and the shop is in Singapore or something, and you're just like that's so cool but I'll never see it, but this is like hey, I live near Battersea Power Station, i could be there in an hour, and I'm like yeah, no, not sure i can be bothered. It's cold, and I'm old and tired, and most of what's there isn't aimed at me or I've already bought it online. It needs a little cafe with transformers barista artwork to make it memorable.

I’m generally concerned about where Transformers is going: Hasbro wants to become a licensor, and is looking to move its headquarters in 2026 and will focus on games and is getting out of toys, they laid off John Warden after he’d just returned, Transformers One underperformed and it’s a real shame that we’re likely to not get a sequel or two as it should’ve been a trilogy. I’m not sure if it’s dying but I don’t see many figures selling anymore at In Demand or Smyths. I’m hoping to go to the Battersea store soon, Blokees doing Combiners sounds really cool.

Didn’t realise that red cliff was rarer in the UK. Was lucky enough to pick a red one up from toys r us in Swansea back in mid 80s, and never saw a yellow one until many, many years later as a collector. Also is it true that they wrecked the original mold to make hubcap, hence no immediate reissues until much later ?

I got G1 Hot Spot one Christmas morning back then.Hot Spot was one my favorite Transformers in the 80's.
