The problem is Hasbro and Takara don’t own the mould, ToyCo did. They eventually lost the metal mould and then sold the rights to another company.

The Collector 75 reviewed an oversized set of G1 Constructicons in ROTF colours with added articulation so this is possible and would be incredible.

Realistically I'd think Soundwave would be the next, we've already had three Autobots and Soundwave seems like he'd need the least amount of retooling, it's mainly just his legs. I'm not sure how they'd do Starscream without partsforming but I can certainly see him in the future. Megatron I'm kind of split on, I can't imagine them not doing the leader of the Decepticons at some point but outside of the toy gun regulations, he has such a weird transformation (his head and arms are on spindly little armatures), I'd almost think they'd have to change the way he transforms entirely.

getting missing links to characters who's original molds where either lost or damaged at some point would be great. Sunstreaker, maybe Wheeljack. it would also be legendary if they decided to finish and release Arcee and Unicron, witch in itself would fit with what missing link is doing, i dont think many would be opposed to getting basically brand new g1 figures after 40 years

Soundwave is a no brainer really. Never had him as a kid because I chose Jazz instead for my birthday. So I'd 100% get that one. Bit the seekers would take a lot of modifying for me to be interested. The fins on their legs would have to fold up instead of just stick out to the sides & back, the wings would have to be located higher on the back to look more like the cartoon and the nosecone would have to fold away completely. Also, no parts forming and they'd have to feature actual thighs too. I'm going to skip on Bumblebee and Cliffjumper though, as I don't think they've modified them enough. The heads should be full sculpts, not on those silver rectangles and they should have proper knees. So it looks like Takara are going for box-art accuracy over everything else, and I want a fan of how a lot of the figures looked on the boxes. Therefore this will be a very selective line for me. If they made Jetfire, Tracks, Beachcomber, HotRod, Blurr, Kup, Ultra Magnus, Jazz, Sideswipe, Windcharger, the cassettes, Mirage, Shockwave & the Dinobots, I'd definitely be interested though.

I think you're right, business wise the seekers is a good move. Personally I want to see Sideswipe & Sunstreaker but would also love to see the Nissan Z's.

I can certainly see the Autobot Cars and Soundwave, not sure about the Seekers though because getting more articulation in the legs looks quite difficult to do. Could be wrong. Megatron is definitely the one where if it doesn’t happen it’s the greatest missed opportunity of all. Not a fan of him being packaged in robot mode even though that is probably the only way to ship him overseas. Maybe have him in a closed box if that’s possible. About a decade ago we still had the gun mode with the Masterpiece and Reveal the Shield figures so Hasbro didn’t totally abandon it after 1984-1986. Reveal the Shield did have the orange tip however. Personally I would like if the Missing Link line gave us figures like the Firecons and Targetmaster weapons with modern articulation as those are the G1 figures that really could use updated technology. Definitely not as big of a seller or as iconic but I would prefer if they went in that direction instead.

It's still possible for Megatron's bot mode. Add extra joints and move the trigger/crotch and gun barrel to the back instead of being on waist.

If you could only get one Missing Link Optimus which one would you get? I hope the next Missing Link is Starscream or Soundwave. I can't imagine any scenario where we get a G1 Megatron. I'm not being facetious when I say this I just think Hasbro is just too PC at this point in time. I'm a huge fan but that's just the world we live in.
