I did my crf the exact same way and noticed the chain is kinda tight when I sit on it.. is this normal?
@RoiaMoto
@RoiaMoto 3 күн бұрын
Hi Eric It is normal for the slack to be reduced once you sit on the bike. For instance, the chain will reach its tightest position if you fully compress the rear shock. In any case the chain should never get “stretched” by this.

My reason for asking, I’m having a problem where when taking off or doing slow speed maneuvers my chain makes an occasional weird popping noise.. close to 3k miles on the bike

@RoiaMoto 2 күн бұрын
Hi Eric, for the CRF300L the correct way of checking the slack is with the motorcycle on its side stand. That's how it is specified in the user's manual. I must say that I also found this to be unusual. Usually manufacture's specify the correct slack with the wheel offf the ground but it's not the case with the CRF300L.

Thanks for the video! What kind of torque wrench do you use, and what is its range? I'm considering purchasing a 1/4" wrench with a 3-25 Nm range, but I'm not sure if that's the best choice. I would appreciate your advice. Thank you in advance!
@RoiaMoto
@RoiaMoto 5 күн бұрын
Hi mate I recommend a 3/8” with a stronger range. I use the torque wrench from Proxxon 3/8” range 20-100Nm. The reason it why I believe you need to be more accurate with higher torque bolts. The 3-24Nm range is for delicate screws and these you can usually do by hand. Yes, you can be super precise on the low torque but usually such screws are ok if you do them hand tight. High torque screws, such as swing arm, engine mounting bolts, etc… these are importante for your safety to be accurate.

@@RoiaMoto I've got the Gore Tex ones too, and they're not too hot, I tested them in Northern European summer (so not that hot, about 20 to 25C), but I was impressed of the overall comfort. Also they are completely waterproof, I had to scout out many bog crossings and I was stomping in the water a lot seeing if it's sinking or not. Also spilled quote a bit of water into them from the top and next day they were mostly dry. I've heard people say that if you get waterproof boots wet they take several days to dry.

I ordered one of these, not arrived yet to my door.. I was looking at the duck head, and I was wondering what their price is to replace one from Rabaconda selling the one they have.. they have it for $45 Euro's, I live in Australia and I did a conversion to my currency and it was $73.25 Aud.. I can get one off eBay for just under $29 Aud = $17.81Euro's, it's not 100% the same as the one Rabaconda has, but it's close enough to have the same mounting holes.. only not having the curved part that is a C shape on the rim, the other is a lot flatter with no lip, as it's really meant for a top down changer that sets the hight to the rim.. so it might lift instead of staying to the underside of the rim. If that I ever need to replace it, I think that will be a work around for not having to spend more than I need to. Put it this way, when I looked at their pricing for the starter street kit, it was some where around over $450 euro's, when that was converted to my Aussie money it was well over $800 Aud... I hope this is going to pay me back.

Hi Pete Usually I don’t carry the cleaning agent and oil when I’m travelling. My trips usually don’t last several months but just a couple of weeks. Once the riding day is over I take the filter off and just “hit” and blow on it. Another option is to blow compressed air (from a distance). Most workshops along the way are very helpful and let me use their compressor for a few seconds. Always blow air from the opposite side where the air enters your engine.

Thanks a lot! The jacket is the Revit H20 offtrack. It has some pros and cons. I made a review about it in here. REVIEW REVIT H2O OFFTRACK kzbin.info/www/bejne/rZWnn2eXidxonac

Great videos. I've a question for you. Do you know where I can get an adaptor type plug for the accessory outlet so that I can plug in more than one accessory eg a USB and maybe the ARN remote. Thanks.

Wont the hole you made compromise the handle bar?
@RoiaMoto
@RoiaMoto 15 күн бұрын
Hi Boris In theory yes but it’s irrelevant in practice. You also don’t need to make the hole go through. Just remove the minimum amount of material necessary as shown in the video. The amount of material removed will not make the handlebar weaker to the point of failure in most accidents. Consider that the original handlebar is made of weaker steel and also has a hole in it. I definitely recommend making a hole instead of filing down the positioning tab on the electrical control.

@@RoiaMoto what is the importance of the positioning tab?
@RoiaMoto
@RoiaMoto 15 күн бұрын
It holds the electric control in place. The little tab on the electrical control slots inside the handle must hole so it doesn’t spin.

Hi , thank you for your video, it was very helpful video with step by step procedure. I did my coolant replacement on my crf rally yesterday. Can you please confirm coolant drain bolt is 10 Nm torque ? Thank you

Hi Sebastian! My pleasure and glad to hear you liked the video! The torque spec for this screw is not listed in the service manual. In this case I follow the “Standard Torque Specs” listed in the manual which is 10Nm. You’re correct. I must say that I practice, all of these bolts of the engine cover I’m doing it by feeling. I usually go lower than what is specified but just enough to ensure there is no leakage.
