I remember when AB's first album came out, and everyone in the US was calling them "Creed 2.0." It probably didn't help that their first album still had a strong Creed influence. It wasn't until Myles started collaborating on the songwriting for their second album that they really began to form their own sound.

I think putting anything besides Dear Agony at number 1 is a travesty honestly. Every single song on that album slaps, where I think every other album has at least one that holds the rest back

I really like that Wolfgang spread his wings on this one. With such a powerful verse and chorus , bringing the original frankenstrat to play the lead was both a dedication to Ed, and Wolfgang showing his heritage and not being afraid to put on a show. Right on Wolfgang.

I disagree that the album ends on a lower note, I think having a ballad dedicated to his dad at the end is great and it makes you reflect on everything he's going through while delivering these awesome songs, the last song I do agree it falls a bit flat because he tries to replicate Stone and it didn't hit as much, but it's still a great jam, all being said great job on the analysis of this album, very well spoken and thought out, last thing I do actually think optimist has great vocals, and he gets to his higher range in the song throughout, but anyway great vid!!

Alter Bridge is on another level from Creed. I know it’s 3/4 the same band but Myles Kennedy is so much better as a vocalist than Scott Stapp. The songwriting is better as well.

Hey, I am u/jayzie12 and I'm glad you enjoyed my iceberg! After some digging I found the interview where Mark discusses the missing solo to Lover. It is at 7:18 in kzbin.info/www/bejne/jni4omejnZh6ZtU. Missing your uploads by the way, I'm a big fan of your content. Wishing you well, JB

I only discovered Alter Bridge a few days ago. Man, I'm absolutely obsessed with the entire Pawns and Kings album, but especially this song... I'm growing despaired as I realise there's very little content about it online 😭

Easily Dark before Dawn. Specifically... 1. Angel's Fall 2. Failure and 3. Ashes of Eden. I may be a 12 Year old kid. But I love this Band so much and I've been listening to them since 2017, I was 5 Years old.

The thing that bothers me on this record is almost every song starts with a solo guitar arpeggio. Don't get me wrong there are some of these intros deserving to stand alone but the ones that are mid should've been re hashed to give the album some different flavor

Rise against was the first band I ever got into (around 2013) I remember being excited for the black market to come out. Like new musix from my (then) favorite band? Awesome! And theennnnnn I was so disappointed. None of it sounded memorable or catchy. It lacked the character I was looking for. Nowadays if I listen to rise against then it's for the unraveling. Tracks like alive and well, great awakening, stained glass and marble, and the art of losing are more my speed. I'm grateful for the pivotal role the band has played in my musical journey (like black masks and gasoline was the song that got me accustomed to screaming vocals). Even if none of their newer music caught me.

As soon as I saw the video title, I opened it, paused, then wrote down my rankings list just to see how different it would be. Most of them ended up hovering around the same places except for the middle of the rankings ironically. I'm always happy to see people talking about this band because I don't think they get nearly enough exposure: 9) The Unraveling 8) Wolves 7) Nowhere Generation 6) RPM 5) The Black Market 4) Endgame 3) Siren Song of the Counterculture 2) Sufferer & the Witness 1) Appeal to Reason

I stopped at a music store today just out of curiosity without really intentions to buy anything. While I was checking out some cds I read "Rise Against" so I inmediately looked there to see if they had something left since I've been listening to them for a good amount of years. Turns out they only had 1 cd left and it was "Endgame". I only knew Architects, Help is on the way and Satellite but those (plus a great album cover😅) were enough for me to buy it. I've been listening to it in the car as I went back home and I'm really excited about the songs I didn't know, the energy of this band is amazing. I'm happy to finally own an album by them which I know I'll be playing a lot and it's also a good excuse to keep exploring more of their music

Hey dude, normally really enjoy your videos but you were way too hard on this album. I’ll address some of your points: - Yes it’s long. It’s a double album. The “good reason” for having this many songs was to thank the fans for waiting 5 years at the time. That’s also why the interlude tracks are there, to separate the album in to 2 parts, which at the end you said they should have done. Well.. they did do it. - John’s vocals. “Multiple singers when it’s just one” so you have a problem with vocal versatility? A growing range of styles is literally vocal improvement. Songs like Call Me The Devil and Only show his improvement the best. - If Scott’s drumming is “bland and repetitive” on here, then it is on every AB and Creed record as well. He has always had drum patterns he repeats on each album. On Last Hero listen to the verses on Show Me A Leader, Poison and Losing Patience. On AB III listen to the choruses of Slip to the Void, Make It Right and Show Me A Sign. Two of many examples that this is nothing new, and it sets each record apart drum-wise. These criticisms are major reaches. The album isn’t perfect and there are a couple filler tracks, but this video comes off like you wanted to balance out all the positivity of this series with some negativity, just so it isn’t all good reviews. I revisited this because I plan on reviewing it on my channel, and just had to give my thoughts.

Very well articulated review. My Favs: 1- Servant 2- Rewind 3- Outlaw Gentleman 4- Seal The Deal 5- Beyond Hell 6-Rock The Rebel 7-Guitar Gangsters 8-Rock The Rebel *I only know a couple of the better known songs off of 6 thru 8 so I can't give a solid opinion yet; I only got into Volbeat 5 months ago😁 I definitely can tell I like the music they put out with Rob more than the 1st few records.

Full Circle is a fantastic album. I’d have it at number 2 behind Human Clay. On My Sleeve, Time, Thousand Faces, Away in Silence, Suddenly and Good Fight. All great songs. To be honest Creed never made a bad album. Weathered would be my least favourite.

You missed out Cradle To The Grave and Pawns And Kings Cradle To The Grave is a great song but shouldn't of been a single as they've never performed it live. That video which captured them at the 02 arena should of been Crows On A Wire. Pawns And Kings is a fantastic song but again maybe to complex as a single.

The reason rebound was included was because the drummer (I think) from teenage bottle rockets had passed away. They toured with Volbeat at some point and volbeat covered the song in remembrance of him. In at least the American release this is explained in the section that the lyrics for the song would've normally gone.
