Great information. Watched, checked my L3400 and guess what - 4 quarts later I'm now good to go. That's a lot cheaper then a rebuild.

its also not important to note there is also another bolt for draining the fluid. i drain my fluid once every year and replace it with new fluid. i had a 9540 drained nasty gunky oil ever since then i replace the fluid completely every year. if your fluid comes out clean then dont drain it all but if its black or dirty drain it all. also remember oil breaks down over time due to oxidation when its exposed to heat and movement. even if ur oil looks new it may not be good due to it being old oil thats broken down over time. oil sealed in its original container stays shelf stable for about 5 years up to 8 or higher for synthetic oils. but once its opened and exposed to oxygen, heat, pressure and movement. even you replace the oil in ur engine and never use it, it can still degrade in as soon as 6 months, but about a year is more realistic.

Use an Allen key to check fluid levels on stuff like this. Take the short end and put it in the check hole, then hold the longer end up flat or level. Then pull it out and check the wet fluid level mark on the allen wrench. This doesn't tell you how much to add, but does give you an idea of how low it is.
@HillsideAcres13 күн бұрын
I prefer the way it’s designed to be checked. Showing oil dosent mean filled to spec
@TheCC8913 күн бұрын
@HillsideAcres That is exactly how it is supposed to be checked. If you use the Allen key method, just like you would with a differential on any equipment or vehicle... And the fluid level is flush with the top of the fill level drain check hole, like the Allen key would show, then you know for certain if it is full, slightly low or really low. This is how you check these types of port hole fluid levels without guessing and dumping oil in to see if it comes out... Not saying your method is wrong, but there is a much easier way to know without guessing. Also, just because the manufacturer says a service isn't due till this many hours, doesn't mean checking or doing the service earlier isn't a good idea. I personally like to double up on my break in service schedule on new equipment because that is the most important service time. On my new L3901, I did a full service at the 50hr, 100hr and 200hr intervals. Then again at 400 hrs, because why not. A few extra hundred to protect a $30k machine is well worth the extra money spent. I just did my 800 hr full service.

@gryphaeonАй бұрын
Kubota is seriously dropping the ball. There are too many other options available, at lower prices, for them to be letting their quality slip like this. I bought my L2501 brand new from a dealer and I asked if I needed to do anything upon receipt of it and was told "no, it's good to go, just like a brand new car, but read the manual and do the services and checks on time.". I shouldn't have listened. I lost several nuts and bolts because nothing was tightened beyond hand tight when they assembled it, including a hydraulic line that leaked about a gallon and a half of fluid before I spotted it, and none of it had been greased. When I contacted the dealer about it, he said it's the owners responsibility to check all that stuff. 😡
@HillsideAcresАй бұрын
All of that would be on the dealer not kubota. Dealer is responsible for final assembly and pre delivery inspection.
@gryphaeonАй бұрын
@@HillsideAcres it's my understanding that kubota is ultimately responsible for the dealerships using their name. Since they're part of the revenue stream and have done nothing to correct the issue either, i hold them accountable. I'm not the only person to have trouble with this dealership, their lead mechanic left and started his own business working on them because kubota won't do shit about it, and he's making a killing fixing the shit the dealership is butchering.
@HillsideAcresАй бұрын
@ that’s pretty much the sad reality of any dealership, quality control has gone to crap across the board. If you think you’d be better off with a Korean tractor give it a shot. Some people get decent luck some people constantly have a tractor down waiting months for parts

Can’t go wrong keeping a close eye on your fluids. My truck isn’t always polished up, but you can bet the bank all of my fluids and filters are on point! Bought my b2601 brand new and there wasn’t a fluid on the machine that was right when I got it. The dealer I bought it from also needs to get there techs a new torque wrench. Ended up going over every bolt on the tractor after two chassis bolts and a rear wheel lug fell off just mowing with the belly mower. Ridiculous quality control. Fact is, we all make huge investments in these machines, take a few minutes and keep thing tight and topped off and you’ll get several thousand hours out of these tractors.
@shelleykrier74173 ай бұрын
Yes they can throw a lot of debris but I'm cautious and try to pick up as much junk before starting. I always wear high heavy boots with eye and ear protection. I love the machine and it has been well worth buying it. Another thing to remember with this is to always use good body mechanics with all the pushing pulling and twisting motions you put your body through. This includes shoulders.

This is useful to see in action, I've been thinking of a similar setup. The pto hp of that tractor is lower than the hp required to get the full juice from the generator. And I've been wondering if I can put an oversized generator on my pto with the foreknowledge that I wont get the full kw out of it. The reason is tractor pto hp takes a lot of different values between tractors, but the pto generators are only a few hp values. Thanks for sharing, was helpful.

ABSOLUTE PIECE OF FREAKIN' JUNK WITH A COMPLETELY WORTHLESS WARRANTY! - Mine is less than a year old, started smoking during operation, oil turned pitch black, and I thought, "Great, burned valve or wasted valve guide, okay, 'Three Year Warranty' though, right...?" WRONG! Even though the machine has less than four hours of run time, the dealership said that the valves were out of adjustment, and that would NOT be covered... I said, "Hang on... You're telling me this thing's engine is such a colossal piece of shit that they expect the valves to be out of adjustment after being run FOUR HOURS?" First piece of Cub Cadet Equipment... LAST piece of Cub Cadet equipment. Happily going back to Husqvarna... AVOID CUB CADET LIKE THE PLAGUE, THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR EQUIPMENT!
