Good day!!! The foam looks like it's a good idea. Sure makes setting posts a lot easier eh!!! The stalls look good. A good weekend of work I'd say!!! Take care!!!

I sure wish an auger would work with our ground. Would make things a whole lot simpler. As it stands now we have to rent the excavator post pounder attachment cuz we are PURE ROCK. ~Erinn :)

The hydraulic auger on the m series loader does a really good job in the rocky stuff just not practical indoors. Thanks for watching Erin !

That’s where the hydraulic auger is key!

Hey Richie and Chrissy, fun times huh. I had never heard of the foam idea. Interesting.

Good morning Gary, the urethane foam works great. I use a similar product at work for insulating and protecting underground pipes!

Your experience with a tractor mounted auger is a little better than mine. We got tons of rock, lack of down pressure normally requires using a digging bar & manual labor. Place is looking good. 👍🏼
@HillsideAcres3 жыл бұрын
There was lots of digging bar and manual work lol. we will probably borrow the hydraulic auger. Thanks for watching

Hello from Minnesota. I've got a similar 3 pt post hole digger. Right now the PTO shaft is seized up. Great progress!
@HillsideAcres3 жыл бұрын
Hey Ricky. Try spraying a product called "Kroil" in the shaft. Its a little pricey but an amazing product. Acetone mixed with automatic transmission fluid may also work well for that. Thanks for stopping by!

Good evening Sir, that is tough going and definitely not a nice walk in the park digging these holes 🥴😏 Outstanding team works 💪👍😉 You are truly both of you hard working folks 👌💪👍😉Very nice looking work 😉👍👌 Have a great week 👍😉 Cheers 🍻

The foam seems like very neat stuff, I’ve never used it myself. Those augers can sure be a pain in rocky ground. You all are making great progress, everything looks nice! Take care!

She edited out some of the struggle and me standing on top of the auger lol. I’m a big fan of the urethrane foam sets up super fast too! Thanks Ben
@khtractors3 жыл бұрын
@@HillsideAcres probably a good thing to edit out 😂! We use to stick a pry bar between the swivel and press down for leverage. One on the loader would be great!

I am with you on not having down pressure. It makes it twice as hard to get the auger started and to get to you depth you want. keep up the good work!
@HillsideAcres3 жыл бұрын
It can make things frustrating, but i would rather have it over just hand digging lol. I think in the other building which will be a lot more posts we will use the loader mount hydraulic unit!

Hey Richie, nice video. I never had much success using a 3 point post hole auger, too many rocks in my area. I purchased a hydraulic auger and fitted it to my Kubota kx 121 mini excavator. The setup works better than the 3 point, rocks are still an issue. The other advantage is the ability to reverse the direction of the auger. In the right soil conditions the auger will screw itself into the ground and get stuck. At that point the 3 point is difficult to get out of the hole. Good luck with your stall building. Paul
@HillsideAcres3 жыл бұрын
In the video I mentioned how I used the hydraulic auger for the pasture. Really not a fan of the three point auger either but it’s what’s on hand.
@bendermanufacturing3 жыл бұрын
Agreed, the 3 point auger beats manually digging the hole by hand.
@HillsideAcres3 жыл бұрын
@@bendermanufacturing The three point auger means a lot of hand digging lol! I can use the hydraulic auger on the 7060 or I may borrow my neighbors Toro dingo with auger, should be nice and compact to use inside

Nice job 👍 I took my Pto shaft off and mounted a hydraulic motor on the gear box . Sure works nice . No shear pins and reverse when you stick the auger . I had serious frost problems on post moving and heaving all the time being on clay base ground . I do everything with clear one inch lime stone now . Problem solved . Nothing has ever moved . The foam is interesting .

Thanks Steve, I have a loader mount hydraulic on I can borrow I just got to drive an hour to get it, that’s probably what I’ll do.

The barn is looking awesome. Augers certainly are more efficient than the post-hole diggers that give you blisters and Popeye forearms. It still looked like you got a great workout. :) #purplecollarlife
