I’m looking to buy a Juki TL2010Q next year. I’m a mixed media fiber artist and this looks like the perfect machine for me. As someone who has been using a sewing machine for nearly 60 years, I understand quite a bit about tension. With that being said, I would like to know more about the pre-tension and when you would need all 3 of the guide holes on top. I’m not familiar with this concept. Would you please do a video on this particular topic. You guys are so phenomenal with your information. Thank you

So I agree with another commenter that the threading shown here misses a step I usually use. I checked your other video for TL threading and it also misses that step. When I look at my owners manual, it indicates you should go through the thread guide on the way down and then again on the way back up. Is there a reason you all skip that thread guide? Is it optional? Thanks for all your wonderful instruction, this topic (heavier thread weight) in particular has been on my list to research recently so I appreciate you all saving me lots of time and frustration!!
@JukiJunkies8 ай бұрын
This is the way we do it and find it works perfectly. It is more natural for the thread to go the way we did. I could be miss understanding so please feel free to email customerservice@jukijunkies.com with a picture to show what you mean :)

Thanks,learned a lot…but I have a question…. I went to your website looking for tex70 thread. Under your industrial thread page you have the following three choices; Tex 90, Aruvp 1350d, and Fil-Tec 69. I’m SO confused. Which one is the Tex 70 ( and is it “Tex” or “Tec” and is there a difference between the two words. Long question but I am confused 😞
@JukiJunkies8 ай бұрын
Fil-Tec TEX 70 bonded nylon is what we use in this video. The Aruva is a high end thread for outside upholstery. If you’re looking for thread for your Juki TL or similar model buy the Tex 70 here is a direct link. jukijunkies.com/product-category/industrial-sewing-threads/bonded-nylon-fil-tex-70/

I never knew those thread nets affected the tension - just thought they kept the thread in line! Good to know - also great tip on the bobbin winding. Did the 2010TL come with those nets (from JukiJunkies) - or do you order those separately (need to check my box)!
@JukiJunkies8 ай бұрын
Have to order separately. Check the description. They definitely help keep your thread a tad tighter. Enjoy!

At minute marker 15:53 when you turned over the Fabric the bobbin stitches did not look good at all compared to the very first line of stitching that you did. I’m surprised you didn’t see that. Would be good to know what you did. It sounded like you increased the stitch length. Unless you adjusted something we could not see. And why is the thread white when you showed brown thread at the beginning of the video?
@JukiJunkies8 ай бұрын
It’s not white thread.. pause the video and look closely. I just reviewed. It still looks good too. Thanks for watching!

Please define industrial thread. Is it the large cones? Is it the thread used on an industrial blind hem machine? Something else? Thanks!
@JukiJunkies8 ай бұрын
Great question. Industrial thread is typically measured in Tex not Weight. The higher the tex the thicker the thread. In this video we used TEX 70. Which is the max thickness of thread you can use in a Juki TL. Also industrial thread is typically a bonded nylon for higher strength.

Confused by the tex 70 part. I have thread that is 100 wt, very fine, down to 12 wt cotton thread which I thought is what you're talking about. How does my 12 wt compare to 70 tex? There is no tex number on it. Thanks.
@JukiJunkies8 ай бұрын
Here is a conversion. to convert wt --> tex divide 1000 by the wt. value to convert tex --> wt divide 1000 by the Tex value e.g. 40wt is 1000g/40km -> 25 Tex 25 Tex --> 1000m/25g --> 40wt 100WT = TEX 10

Wt is the km of thread per kg. Tex is the inverse - weight in g/km. to convert wt --> tex divide 1000 by the wt. value to convert tex --> wt divide 1000 by the Tex value e.g. 40wt is 1000g/40km -> 25 Tex 25 Tex --> 1000m/25g --> 40wt 12WT= TEX 83 Roughly
