One of the reasons this car did not sell well was also becuase the alternative options one had. maruti suzuki 800, i believe was probably the best car for middle class house holds back in the day. We had one, well we still do. A true value for money.

This car was marketed very foolishly as Sir Ratan Tata (RIP) accepted himself, it was supposed to be marketed as the most affordable car, but they marketed it as the cheapest car, and no one wants to buy the cheapest car. The role of this car was to replace motorcycles for the family of four, where usually in India four people two parents and two children's would frequently ride on a single motorcycle(it's illegal now but still happens in tier 3 cities). IT WAS A BRILLIANT CONCEPT BUT VERY POORLY EXECUTED, ALSO THE ZERO STAR RATING IS WHAT TOOK TO THEIR HEARTS AND THEN STARTED PRODUCING SOME OF THE TOUGHEST CARS IN THE COUNTRY AND THEY BROUGHT THE REVOLUTION OF FIVE STAR RATED CARS (service and refinement is still an issue with new Tata cars but they are doing better by the day , but still fit and finish of their cars is absolutely abomination, especially given the incredibly high-quality parts they use which renders even best of the parts useless due to their fit and finish or I should say quality control) To sum up the new Tata cars are incredibly well-built as as sum of high-quality parts but still lack the fit and finish quality of Korean/Japanese counterparts.

I have an express van VTRUX in the shop right now. This thing has 2 OBDII plugs under the dash. I can floor it and watch the battery level drop. After 20 minutes of driving, the battery is in the yellow on the gauge and the engine takes over. It also has the check engine light on at all times with a P0621- gen. L circuit code. The alternator doesn't even have the cable running from the alternator to the battery. I am assuming that it was rerouted through the main generator, but now it has this code.

WTF is this guy talking about? You're wrongfully shitting on this car!!!! This car isn't for people with low standards because it's not a low standard car. And you're wrong about the horsepower of this particular nodel year because the 1994 model year aswell as the 1995 model year, like the one in this video has 210 hp which is more than adequate for a car like this and way more hp than most economy cars of today.
