The toilet flanges work better when you put the 2 notches on the side instead of trying to use the slides. It holds the johny bolts more securely and when you put the toilet down its much easier to set it straight.

Would a double plastic barrier keep a residual dust? Or is that not possible?
@royalsbuilt1216
@royalsbuilt1216 7 ай бұрын
Dust always finds a way. But if you completely take off everything a single barrier is usually sufficient

You will like it. It has its downsides. Like takes up space. But it’s good. I wouldn’t get the same lift again though. Micro adjust is tough with the thumb dial

Why on earth does anyone need a 52” fence on a table saw. Track saw dude!
@royalsbuilt1216

We’ve got the track saw too. A couple actually. Lol. 52” keeps us doing repeatable cuts faster. We rarely use the capacity though.

Nice work! The end product looks beautiful. I have a couple of questions: 1) was the sapele wood hard on the saw blades? and 2) what do you call that contraption you had on the waterlox can?? Thanks :-)

Sorry for the delay. Just getting back in to KZbin. I’ve taken a loooong hiatus. lol. No Sapele isn’t too bad. Probably about the same as Maple or Oak. The stirrer is called a paint mixing mate. I’ve bought the ones from procabinetsupply.com too. General finishes makes them.

Okay, I finally got a router table, seven years later. Actually, it's a work in progress. I picked the Jessem Master-Lift Excel II with the wheel on the side to raise and lower the router in the Jessem phenolic table. I really wanted the Incra Cleansweep with the MagnaLock rings, but I guess I wanted the wheel more. I just ordered the Jessem TA fence for too much money and I just need to get a micro-adjust for the fence, which seems like it should come with it for that price. I had bought the Bosch MRF23EVS 15 amp router because I read on some forum that it was the same diameter as the 12 amp router, but it is too big and won't fit the lift. So I have to make three 6mm spacers and jump through some hoops to get the switch to work, since it is in the fixed-base handle, which needs to be removed to put it in the lift.
@dahut3614
@dahut3614 Жыл бұрын
That's *four* spacers. I had to mill down the 0.246-inch thick "6mm" aluminum that I bought at Amazon to 0.222-inches and bent them into a slight V-shape on the press brake at work- about a 150° obtuse angle. With the spacers, it now tightens in the 4.2-inch Porter Cable configuration! There is a removable aluminum ring on the Jessem table (no plate) which holds the insert rings that is 5.23-inches in diameter and 3/8-inch thick. If someone could tell me the diameter of the Magnalock rings (and the distance across the "magnet bumps"), maybe I could make a custom ring that could fit the Magnalock rings...
@dahut3614
@dahut3614 Жыл бұрын
It looks like about 4-13/16-inch across the "magnet bumps" and 4-3/16-inch on the round part. This is small enough to fit. I went to the Rockler store to measure the rings in the Incra Lift that fits Rockler tables. This is accurate to the extent that I could measure using a tiny keychain tape measure with not-as-young-as-they-used-to-be eyes!

2 ways to make this router table even better: - add a superPID to control router rpm. - add some electrickery to activate dust collection automatically.

People fuss too much to turn a 90 degree angle with two perfect match 45 degree cuts. Why? Just make the cuts at 45 and don't worry if a little off, assemble slabs together in place or on the bench. Set up straight edge along the 45 and run a router and bit (perfect channel not all the way though) to inlay a strip of wood or contrast color material whatever. the joint line is going to be there regardless so work with it instead of trying to perfect it.

To avoid wearing out the bottom of the drawer, you could add two small wheels behind it, assuming you had space to hollow out for that in the front frame. Good restoration :)
