He crazy !!! Mopar or No Car !When he said he wouldn’t know what car to choose today but then called out a new Vett that’s Crazy. Then talk about 4 door vehicles what about First gen SRT 8 jeeps ? If I was there he would have not like me cause I would have challenged most of his statements only thing I agree on was the statement about the old cas with less electronics THATS It . And disrespecting a 400 Chey block he lost me!

The 318 standard HD double roller timing chain will work on it to, no tensioner required then. Just put a timing chain on both my 3.9 and 5.2 a few years ago.

Totally done w/ the splash rods , 1953. Some 52s w/powerglide had full pressure too. Best are 54-62 stick trans 235s. Solid lifters , full presure oiling. Love the fact yer building it back "stock"! Old chevs are good cars , and fun. The transmisions are the weak link. Best set up would be full preasure 235. 4 or (even better) 5 spd. manual trans. 55-57, or, nova etc, open drive rear. Drive anywhere then. For local driving, what you got is just fine. Love,,Dubs

Standing it up will risk breaking the pump gears when it drops in. Lifting , taking the weight off the pilot allowed it to go in while rotating.

I’m seeing this 9 months after the repairs, but that Olds 98 is awesome! 324 4bbl 240 horse and a “Jetaway Hydramatic” which is a 4 speed. S for passing, Lo for steep grades. 98’s were loaded with options. Always nice cars back in the day!
