My bet for longetivity.. 06/07 Duramax LBZ motor and little to none Emissions crap. With good maintenance… easily 500k miles.. my 06(Stolen in 2023) 629,000 Kms and ran clean .. replaced with an SLT 07 CCSB..505,000kns. Solid, lots of power and a towing beast for $16,000 CAD. HARD to beat that !!

@@Bewefau I’d buy a 2024 in the year 2034. Price. Electronics. Inflation. Vehicles are liabilities not assets, unless you have an exotic car or very rare one. Plus older trucks with good owners make for a badass ride. Couldn’t fathom dropping 80k on a truck that does the same thing I can get for 10-20k good used low miles truck and I can make the 10k truck out show an out perform the 80k truck.

I definitely agree with the Sierra 1500 on the list. Looking for one to upsize from Nissan Frontier. Family growing and want larger truck for projects. I have been told best years are between 2010-2016.
@CoffmanHouse

@@PM_Doug awesome. If you go with a 2010-2016 Silverado/sierra. Make sure the transmission is good. And if it is, once you get her home immediately switch out the transmission thermostat for the upgraded one. It’s a pretty easy job if you’re handy. But it should save the transmission. Also they have a fuel saver option that the truck goes into automatically, so I’d get the OBS2 tune/eliminator that eliminates it, so the truck will always just stay in v8 mode. I’m not a pro, always learning, just know a thing or two. I like those 2014 Silverados for sure!

@CoffmanHouse
@CoffmanHouse 3 ай бұрын
@@oswaldovasconcelos2071 I can't say if it's safe or not since I am not a professional. And doing so will void any warrantee you might have. I did spacers and fatter tires to give me more traction and better stability which have done exactly what I was going for in my opinion. All I can say is that I trust it enough to keep me and my kids safe as I would never do anything to jeopardize that. I used a spacer that is bolt on and torqued to specific specifications and called for the exposed threads to be grinded down for proper installation which took a while and you have to be good with a grinder otherwise you can mess it up. I hope that helps. IF I COULD DO IT OVER AGAIN... I probably would not go with spacers at all, but I would have went with a smaller rim maybe 17" and kept the tire fat. Maybe like a 17"x8 or an 17" x 9 rim. The rims I have now are pretty fat and large for the wheel well, but they fill that gap nice and I get lots of compliments on it.

Hi! I’m thinking of getting a preowned mid- or full-sized pickup truck as daily work truck. I have a commute of 40 mile one-way (1.5 hrs) then another 1hr drive home in horrid SoCal traffic. I haul mostly network cabling installation equipment in the bed, and do not tow. What brand, model year, engine and grade do you recommend? I would like to have some of the newer active safety features such as the automatic emergency braking system to avoid front collisions, but not as critical as long-term reliability and durability. Any suggestions for a late model pickup truck with Direct and Port Injection. Also, what immediate and affordable engine and transmission mods for reliability and durability do you recommend to protect the powertrain? I’m not looking for more power, just long-term reliability and durability as I don’t have too much money and need a truck for work and personal use. Thank you!

@CoffmanHouse
@CoffmanHouse 6 ай бұрын
could be a power draw issue. Do you have resistors on the LED lights or did you do the LED swap from the GM interior lighting control module? If they are new lights, I doubt there is an issue but could be, can't rule that out. But if they only go out when the headlights go on, seems like they aren't getting power. If that's the case, I would turn on the headlights, and get your multi-meter out an check your rear light wires to see if they all get power 12V. If not, then the issue is from there. If all the wires are getting power to the light, then the issue is probably the light itself. If you get a resistor for the power wire to the light and it doesn't solve the issue, then I'd assume the light is being faulty.
