I use the same size flouro except when fishing heavy grass. Lakes around here are usually super clear

One of my lowest confidence baits is the swim jig. But I've been putting in the time with it and we are getting there slowly.
@TheTinHorseMonty15 минут бұрын
Good to hear. I was the same way for many years and once I started fishing with it more and having a little success I started picking it up more.

I throw straight 30lb super smooth braid because the water I fish is dirty. Sometimes I'll tie a 15lb leader on. I fish the exact same setup you do. Funny you caught that catfish. I caught a 20+lb flathead last week on the white swimjig. Thought I had the state record large mouth 😂

Man those catfish always get my heart racing.

Shallow water bassin 💥 I like braid or copolymer depending on the cover. That copolymer has limited stretch and is incredibly durable.

Ok. Thanks for the feedback. Definitely need to revisit braid.

I fish a grass lake and I like 30lb straight braid. I also notice some days they bite it with a craw style trailer and some days they want it slow rolled with a paddle tail trailer.
@TheTinHorseMonty10 сағат бұрын
Good feedback dude. I appreciate n agree. The trailer can be a big deal.

I guess I need to throw a swim jig more often. I do prefer using 30 lb. braid in all types of bass fishing. I rarely break my line. I used a palomar knot on braid. Great video as usual. Very informative. Thank you and God bless you.

I use fluorocarbon, 12-15lb depending on the situation. 7'3" MH rod and a similar gear ratio reel, 7:3:1.

Looks like that 3 hour delay got you there right on time. I was surprised you didn't put a trailer hook on the Spinnerbait. Going to that small swimbait clinched it for some good ones.

Love a spinner bait. I prefer to fish mine with a trailer. Rage menace or swim bait. Sorry about your tire! When is the last time you repacked your wheel bearings?
@TheTinHorseMonty4 күн бұрын
I like a trailer in muddy water. It's been years on the bearings but I grease them about twice a year.

Good catching. I love spinnerbait fishing when they'll bite it. I also blew a trailer tire going to Cedar months back and a guy who lived nearby came to help us. He had a floor jack and impact wrench. Fortunately, my spare was good but I ruined my tire. Glad you got some good help. God bless you.

I love a good spinnerbait bite. I think it is becoming more of a player than the chatterbait some days. Fish have seen alot of chatters the past 10 or so years.

man i think no action trailers are best. cuz if they're aggressive they should eat action no action the same. and if they're not aggressive no action gets the nod. only time i can see action really making a difference is really muddy water. idk tho i could be wrong. just makes sense to me.
@TheTinHorseMonty3 күн бұрын
Makes sense. Sometimes when you are popping the jig or stroking it they want a swimming action to the trailer.
