I like that the mask with her face on it scared the other masks 😆

He just forgot to lock the door, and lock up those cursed masks. And someone forgot to lock him up.

Fun fact: Goosebumps was the first Fox Kids show to have a rating before they rolled out TV-Y and TV-Y7.

The '80s and '90s in particular we're really the best times in America - nobody can convince me otherwise.

This one and the Werewolf Of Fever Swamp are some of the scariest Goosebumps's episodes. Also, my favorites as well.

Yeah, I was 5 at the time and I still remember the Goosebumps mania when I went to the library and the mall. However, The Haunted Mask wasn't the first episode I watched. It was The Girl Who Cried Monster.

I liked Don't Wake Mummy. The design effects on that mummy could easily have fit in with other 90's adult stuff like X-Files or Buffy The Vampire Slayer EASILY. Not much to the story; though...

Oh yeah, so, my mate Dave was getting into special effect make up (might still be, he disappeared in Straya) and because of reasons he asked me to do a head casting. I gleefully obliged. I might have told him I'd done it before, I forget these things. Anyway, it took a lot longer than you'd think. Hair in a balloon, coat of vaseline, three coats of dental algae, several layers of plaster soaked bandages, final layer of raw plaster. Leave to cook. It was about three hours all told he was under that, in the dark. I opted to keep a running monolog going to distract the brain. Turns out I can talk more or less nonstop for extended periods of time. Anyway, the entertaining things were, after the final coat had gone on Dave started miming and it turned out he wanted me to take a photo. Well, now, I didn't then and still don't to this day, use a smart phone. People either ask about that with looks of stunned incredulity, which serves as a reminder why I don't want one, or base jealousy, to which I usually point out they do not, in fact, have to have a smart phone, they could also purchase a little handset like mine and be happier. They never do. Another reason to avoid getting one. So, I would have to use Dave's own phone and that meant this was the first time I had a legit reason to use my unerring and sometimes eerie ability to unlock phones. Seriously, people freak out when I mention their PIN number to them. They think it's voodoo. Oh, which reminds me, we had a new bar-wench start up a few months back. I did a whole skit about being a mind-reader. Hammed it up to the nth. Went for guessing her name. She actually went pale when I got it right down to the obscure spelling. Other people at the bar were amused, because they, unlike the girl, had all spotted her custom phone case which had her name emblazoned the entire length of it. That was a good day. So, yeah, unlocked his phone, took some photos. Later, after peeling off his face, pouring cold lemonade down his spout and generally checking all of him was where it was meant to be, we assembled his head, sealed it up and took a positive cast of it. Turned out damned well. That was also a surprise. Sometimes I wonder where young Mister Dave is these days. Somewhere out in the outback. Befriending a tribe of koalas, I hope. Probably been killed, though, since Straya is the living embodiment of murder. I also have given up telling people that keeping their phones in the back pockets is foolish because even I can pickpocket the damn things but no one ever listens. As a complete aside, whilst I don't use a smart phone, my collection of smart phones grows on the daily basis. Also, microwave ovens work as shockingly good Farraday cages, blocks any signal, even apple tags. Oh, wait, maybe he took a cast of his head so he could make a realistic mask of someone else's face and that's how he's disappeared… I'd phone him and ask but his phone went missing shortly before his flight. I have also had a friend genuinely run away with a circus. Haze's Circus of Horrors to be exact. Spin-off of Archaos after they got banned in England just because they accidently ran over a three year old with a motorcycle. Who was fine, btw, not even scratched. My friend came back after a few years but that was an odd experience. kzbin.info/www/bejne/o3qvk4mGdpmWl6M

I think Two and a Half Men Halloween episode "Hi, Mr. Horned One" S3E6" should be added to the list. That episode was hilarious, plus a nice twist at the end.

Widescreen for a 4:3 on TV shows from the 90 and 80s, sometimes I've noticed you can see where it's been cropped off which is a shame why not just upgrade the footage as much as it looks credible without exposing to much of what isn't supposed to be seen it can look good on the rare episodes like Duane Barry and Tunguska because of the wider shots to show how many people at the end of Tunguska while being tested with the vaccination against the black oil

My family's favorite holiday! Nothing like watching Ernest Scared Stupid (which I still watch every Halloween night), Treehouse Of Horror episodes, and scary movies overall! There was also a Hallmark mix tape of Halloween songs, along with Thriller and other holiday classics that my mom would play on Halloween night. I found it a few years ago and have it displayed as a decoration and will try to play it once I find a tape player on TorT!

Season 8 is fantastic. It has some of the best Mythology episodes since the syndicate got killed off. The stand alone episodes are incredible as well. Badlaa, Roadrunners and Via Negativa are among my favourites. Best LA-produced season of the X Files. Its hard to compete with the first five seasons, but season 8 is up there certainly.
