Great video. I probably couldn’t do this myself. Your awesome. Only thing I noticed is that the turn signal is usually on the outside. So either you install your lights upside down or to the opposite side of the cart. Either way great install. Works flawlessly. 🫡

Well done! I'm new to golf carts and wanted to commend you on an excellent how-to video. As well would like to ask about the cart in the video. Is that engine/drivetrain setup factory or something you installed? I'm currently working on installation of a gas engine setup, replacing the factory electric setup on a late 90's model EZGO and if you could do a walk through of yours, that'd be great. New subscriber, keep up the good work.
@TimothysTractors

Thanks for watching and subscribing! I sold the cart so I can’t take a walk around video unfortunately but I remember just about everything I did to it. It was originally electric and I converted it to gas using a Duromax engine and a torque converter kit with a much larger sprocket than what comes with the kit. I used a 40 chain with a chain tensioner made by monster craftsman. At the time those could be bought on eBay. I used the old electric motor but cut off the armature and had just the shaft with a sprocket welded to the shaft for the chain. That was probably the hardest part other than getting everything lined up perfectly. Let me know any other questions!

Hello, I noticed that there's a lot of wiggle. I have a similar issue, is that normal? Or does the whole assembly probably need changing? My frame is from the early 80's.
@TimothysTractors

It should be fine. How does it drive? You can kind of see when I spin mine by hand at 2:43 it has a little wiggle room but it drove fine. It's been a few years and I no longer have it.

I work with computers and have little experience working on things like this. I was wondering if any type of grease should be going on to these bolts when reinstalling and also would it make sense to replace those small rubber bushings since you already have everything off?
@TimothysTractors
@TimothysTractors 3 ай бұрын
I put grease on the bolts that were used with bushings and would move, but not on anything else that was just part of assembly. The bushings can be a pain to replace, but yes, it may have been easier to just go ahead and do it while I had it somewhat taken apart. Recently, I’ve discovered it is easiest to replace all the bushings front and back when the cart is flipped on its side

Dude, you should press your burns in and not hammer them and you’re supposed to use at least at bare minimum a socket. That’s approximately the same size as the outer ring. I hope you didn’t damage your bearings.
@TimothysTractors
@TimothysTractors 3 ай бұрын
Usually I’ll put a flat plate of steel on top of the bearing to tap it in evenly. I tapped around the edge and tried to go in evenly. Thanks for watching!

Is there anyway you could post a video of your wiring form your forward and reverse switch? I'm having issues wiring mine. Mine is a 1986 marathon EZGO. I see you have a cable running from the front of the forward and reverse switch to the negative side? I also see a cable on top of the solenoid, what is that connected too?

Great video! I have a 4100 with 2,450 hrs. I have a couple of tractors and I will never get rid of this one. The turn radius is incredible. The hands free option going from 2x4 to 4x4 is something every tractor should have. Let me know if you ever want to sell the loader. I put a battery tender on my battery with a quick connect. I keep it on a trickle when its parked.
@TimothysTractors
@TimothysTractors 4 ай бұрын
That’s a good idea to make it easier to charge. The battery is definitely not in a user friendly place to get to. I recently replaced mine and it took longer than necessary! They are great tractors and just as used as a new one in my opinion. The 4x4 is super easy to engage - I find myself accidentally stepping on it occasionally when I get on or off the tractor but I frequently check to make sure I haven’t stepped on it while driving. Thanks for watching!

I have a 93 Marathon 36 v. the battery and electrical look like mine. In the video you removed the micro switches and buzzer, what do the switches do and where do they land. Do you know where I can get a wiring and a mechanical diagram. Thanks for your Video
@TimothysTractors
@TimothysTractors 6 ай бұрын
Looks like there’s some good diagrams on some online forums like this one: cartaholics.com/threads/1993-36v-marathon-forward-and-reverse-switch-and-solenoid-wiring.21622/ I’m trying to remember what the microswitches are for. I think one was for the half speed reverse which I didn’t need on such an old slow cart. The other might have something to do with F/R direction or the backup buzzer.
@melvinbarnes197
@melvinbarnes197 6 ай бұрын
Thanks for your reply. Seems to work electrically. I didn't know but when you mentioned the half speed switch I wondered if one of them was it, and the other, the reverse buzzer. Looks like it's getting hard to find information on such an old cart. Have some mechanical issues with play in the steering. Again Thanks for your video and information. Looking forward to more of your videos. Mel
