Start up comparison John Deere 425, 445, and 455

Nice fleet, bought a 445 couple years ago. Seen a kid driving his grandpa’s 332 around and was hit w/ instant envy…the hunt was on for one . Wanted a 455…..Only seems to be a few 300 series around here. Not seen one 400 series Around.

Does it matter where the idle is at for the start up

No not really. I like to keep it high enough that it is turning the engine faster than the starter turns it. Usually I go for around half throttle.
