You gave me many ideas on how to style my bedroom to complement my oak with a fruitwood finish American Drew Country French bedroom set which is 45 years old. I was a participant at the original Renaissance Pleasure Faires in California, for 20 years. The big difference is that there was what was called "Living History," an effort to convey the actual history of the Renaissance, so those faires had a program of historical shows, including the Queen's Progress through the faire, holding court, and a main show on the main stage. This all seems fairly random. But the main feature of all these faires has always been the food vendors and arts and craft shows, including those who sell the costumes and accouterments. These are really cosplay and fantasy faires.

So step 1 is be conventionally attractive and white. Step 2 is have several hundred dollars to blow in a day. Step 3 already have a sword and a few other accessories. Step 4 is find a ren fest with a ton of pretty great cheap options. Got it. When I start with that stuff, I bet I can do this too. I however start at a bit of a disadvantage with my body type and amount of money and the fact of only having a few vendors at the KC Ren Fest to choose from. Darn.

Important to note A larger longer table cloth looks more French/English/classic. If the hang of the table cloth is too short it will look decidedly American. Layering the too short table cloth over another table cloth that is larger also helps with keeping French/English/classic look.

Crimson Rose Masquerade and Disguises A Costume Superstore in Denver have a HUGE selection. Disguises might have the old "military" outfits you're looking for. They have a big selection in the back part of their store that surprised the heck out of us.

I loved this! I, like millions ‘of others bought into “Farmhouse”. Unlike others, I pulled it down once I realized I had word signs attached everywhere, it had gone beyond kitchy. The ideas you have borough in today are basic to farmhouse but in an elevated, classic way.

FINALLY someone mentions wallpaper! I don't understand why all these "influencers" keep making walls either white or a solid color but think it gets a pass because they have books everywhere and vintage items on the shelves. True vintage decor had lots of colors, textures, and patterns and it's so obvious when someone is just doing an aesthetic verses the real thing. They'll do a boring paint job on one "accent" wall (or more if your lucky), then they just slap a dark academia/maximalist label on it. Painting your room with one color doesn't make it maximalist! It stresses me out. It's like no one knows how to design rooms anymore. Use rugs! Use trims! Use tile! Use drapes, designs, and textures! Use proper lighting! Use anything but white, please! Be intentional

This outfit ended up so cute but if you really wanted to be a LOTR elf it wouldof been cheaper because they mostly wear robes and a head piece, not full chemise-bodice-armor, you could have just gotten a medieval style dress with flowing sleeves and embroidery.
