Hello Seb and community, I wanted to share my experience with this process, including some issues I ran into and how I managed to solve them. First, I wanted a reliable USB-to-DMX interface since you never really know what’s inside those generic USB devices. I ended up purchasing the Eurolite DMX 512 because it was available and, importantly, it’s supported by QLC+ (you can check the list of supported devices on their website). As for drivers, the one Seb recommends didn’t work for me. However, it seems QLC+ already had some drivers or configuration pre-installed. All I had to do was enable a different row option in the Input/Output tab, and it worked. The most frustrating part was adding the fixture. I have a cheap knockoff brand from China, which wasn’t straightforward to configure. Thankfully, there’s this amazing website where you can find fixtures for QLC+ by name: Open Fixture Library. I downloaded my fixture profile from there, but make sure to place it in the user folder (C:\Users\yourUserName\QLC+), not the QLC+ install folder! If you put it in the install folder, your “scene” won’t load properly when you save and reload it later. Another issue I faced was figuring out why there was no light output for a while. It turned out one of the channels controlled the light’s overall intensity, and it was set to 0. 🤦♂ So while the red, green, and blue values were updating correctly, I couldn’t see anything! 😄 Now that I’ve got everything set up, I have to agree with others who’ve said it would be amazing to share pre-made “effects.” I tried replicating a lightning bolt effect and was somewhat successful, but I have no idea how to create others like “underwater,” “sunset,” or anything else. I’d have to tinker with it for a while-but as they say, ain’t nobody got time for that! 😄 If anyone knows of resources or could share some pre-made effects, that would be fantastic! I wasn’t able to find anything particularly helpful through Google or ChatGPT. Thank you Seb for making this!! Good luck with your setup!

Hey mate. Been missing the Monday nights live! I try to sit down during the week to catch up. Noticed a ton of your past live streams are MIA? About those Aldi xmas trees, to get the snow off them you can soak em in warm soapy water and run your hand through them. They clean up very quickly. I did it last year.. I then used PVA and woodland scenic fine flock and coated them in it to look like old warhammer trees from back in the 90’s, they turned out brilliantly! I want to buy more this year and do some Autumns ones.

Hello brother, I just bought your fogbox via your patreon site. I have a question, I have an Ender 3 V3 SE and it looks like the box stl file is too large to print for my printer. Can you tell me how I can print this please?
@Atmoseeker19 күн бұрын
Hey mate! Thanks for purchasing. Yeah it can be quite a big print. Is it too tall? Or is it too wide for the print bed?
@navigator697419 күн бұрын
@@Atmoseeker I am trying to figure it out how it al works together. It looks like the biggest part is the cooling chamber right? This one actually fits. What doesnt fit is the tray its too wide...
@Atmoseeker19 күн бұрын
@navigator6974 oh cool, yeah the cooling chamber is the biggest part to print. alternatively you can use something like a baking tray instead of the printable tray. It's basically just there to catch any condensation that may come out of the cooling chamber
@navigator697418 күн бұрын
@@Atmoseeker thank you for the help. I am new to 3 d printing...hence my questions. Can I just print out the cooling chamber with stock profile with 10 percent infill or do I have to manually set infill to 0?

The file's good to go with you stock infill. The mesh has been hollowed out 👍

Thanks buddy! Yes! There's still a bunch of stuff I wanna do with this terrain. For something like the alien rpg, I found you actually don't need a lot of this printed. Just chucking some hallways down with some atmosphere added loads to the game

Hey, just found your channel and it's helped me so much already...I'm looking into getting a light setup like this but according to what I am finding, these lights have been discontinued. Do you have a suitable replacement that could easily go along with this same setup you have in the video? Ones I am finding don't seem to have as many LED's in them and also the back is slightly different as well. I am not tech savvy so any help would go along way

Story is what's immersive - the game has been around for 50 years, long before home theater special effects studios existed, for a reason. The imagination is what makes an adventure memorable, not special effects. When was the last time you thought about a movie or a video game and it invoked an emotion? Think of that adventure you had 20 years ago - yeah, baby, that's what I'm talking about.

This Vid is awesome!! Been referencing it heaps while designing the lighting setup for our new studio we use to record our sessions. We've gone for a similar setup, however are having issues getting the DMX lights communicating with our PC. We have BEAMZ LED slimpar 35 parcans that are daisy chained to a mixer, which is connected to the PC with the UDMX cable. Is it possible to connect it through a mixer and still have the drivers pick it up?
@AtmoseekerАй бұрын
Thanks for watching! In this setup i'm using the PC as the mixer, so I'm not sure how it'd handle another mixer attached. Depending on the mixer you have, potentially you could send midi commands to it from the PC for triggering stuff, but I haven't really played around with a setup like that

The lighting setup changes quite a bit depending on the theme, usually I'll use my DMX controlled lights because they can be animated like stage lighting. If you wanna see different setups there's an atmosphere playlist here: kzbin.info/aero/PLn9FTf3gHbviuGFpdzChS48YTSf42wtSB&si=8csgPx6Ix4SA8c0_
