Thanks for the beamshots, The advantage of 14500 is just being very slim, short and lightweight. Nitecore did a really good job on it. The other one is way larger and looks more like a 18650 flashlight. Of course it will trow further with the same emitter due to its size. Dont't see the reason for putting a 14500 battery into such a chunky body. I think Nitecore MC1pro would be a better match for the white one and still much shorter,
@MascaratumBLFАй бұрын
@unclevasco Thanks for watching and for your comment and ideas about these lights 🙂 While I understand your point on the MT1A being a slimmer and lighter flashlight, with a good throw and some versatility, I cannot avoid stating the great quality that the E1 has, even if it is a bigger flashlight in all aspects! But of course, the 14500 in such a "bigger" light may seem "too small" and almost comparable with 18650s. Still, I think it is a tank of light. As for the MT1A, i guess it may have some more efficiency in some way, but it also drains some more juice from the battery on the highest mode. I don't own a MT1C, but that one would surely have a different throw due to being larger in the head. If I come to get one, I will compare them ;) Again, thank you for your comment and perspective!!! 🙌😎

i bought 3 E1 heads and two bodies (SFT25R, and 519A in 4.5KK & 3.5KK) and i have the MT1A Pro as well. i agree that the E1 is has better throw but it’s almost the size of an 18650 light. as soon as the S6 is available with an SFT25R i feel like that would be a better comparison wrt size. all that said, i really like the E1 and L2 (which i also have). ty for this comparison tho. i am subscribed and i love your content
@MascaratumBLFАй бұрын
@@ShawnDumas Hey, thanks for your comment and kind words 🙏🏻 As for your note, about the S6 with SFT25R you are probably correct, it will be able to get more power and put out more light with an 18650 than the E1 with a 14500! Still, the E1 is a beast of a light with an incredible throw and amazing host! The MT1A is smaller and very competent too, more stable in drop but less throwy! I actually will probably use it with AAs just to have 2 modes 😅 Thanks again 🔦🙏🏻

Well, it is hard to explain without doing it, but I will try! I would suggest checking the diagram you find here: www.mtnelectronics.com/index.php?route=information/information&information_id=17 If you have a REVERSE CLICKY SWITCH: - Click for ON (starts "ramping" from the lowest output up to max and down again, if you don't tap); - Click for OFF - While ON: * tap the switch to stop the "ramping"; tap again, to resume "ramping" (up to max output and then down to lowest output); double tap to invert the "ramping" direction * after turning ON, 2 quick taps go to Moon (lowest output) (1 tap, starts "ramping") * from anywhere, 3 taps to go to Turbo * from anywhere, 4 taps to enter strobes (single tap to change the strobe) and battery check (10 blinks is full, less blinks mean the battery is not full). If you have a FORWARD CLICKY SWITCH (as in "momentary ON"), the explanation is a bit more dense, since the switch and the interface differ a little bit. The principle is almost the same, except that for turning ON the flashlight and to lock a certain output, it will be different. Let me know if this helps in some way. This is an older video, so I may need to do an updated one :x

It was painful watching you struggle with the twisty control. I've come from using a Jetstream Jet-U twisty top for many years. It is the same length as the Lumintop EDC15 but less than half the weight and about half the circumference (thickness) with an aaa battery. I became very comfortable with the twisty. I've owned the Lumintop EDC15 for a few months now and haven't had any issues with the control. I believe that with twisty top lights, timing is important. You need to pace yourself, pause slightly, between light intensity modes. if you change modes very quickly with the EDC15 you'll probably end up in strobe mode. After a few times it becomes natural. I think that if you used only the EDC15 for a while, control would become less frustrating for you.
@MascaratumBLF8 ай бұрын
@ARobbieC, thanks for your comment. Sorry for making it painful to watch, but that was, and still is a struggle with this light! I am not sure if it is this sample, but I still have some struggles to make it turn on and change modes correctly. I have several olther twisty lights (Sofirn, Nitefox, Lumintop, etc) and with none I have troubles controlling it. Before doing the review, I tested it to see if the problem was mine or not. And although I admit I may not be the most proficient "twister" I guess it was not just on me. But, to each, its' own and I am glad you didn't have issues with yours☺

You would need some kind of spacer (brass, copper or aluminium), to put between the quad MCPCB and the pill. I don't have a notion of the measurements (diameter/height) of that, though. On BudgetLightForum, member "kiriba-ru" sells some spacers, you can check that in the thread: budgetlightforum.com/t/low-cost-copper-pills-spacers-optics-drop-ins-updated-23-10-2022/38581/1 In the USA, I am not sure if MTN Electrincs sells those spacers, but you can check in the store, as well: www.mtnelectronics.com/ Besides the spacer, you can also check the optic and MCPCB/LEDs there or in www.kaidomain.com (or other online sellers). I like these for small survival kits where space is a concern. 1 The flashlight is pretty small for AA size 2. I can pop in a primary lithium and dont have to worry about it for 10+ years going flat in storage with no use 3. In pitch dark even 20 lumens is a godsend and you will have that for 16 hours (lithium primary has ca 2300mah, same as eneloop) having more light is naturally better (120lm for 2,5h in high) but even mid mode 20 lm is usable light for a long time. 4. No button is one less part that can fail and i dont have to worry about lockout,- if its off, its off - no accidental button activation in the pack if were to forget lockout before packing it away like with switch lights. 5. i can get these from ali for app. 15-16 bucks, cheap but still a lumintop quality light. Of cause its not perfect, twist activation and UI is a bit awkward , doesnt throw very far (but I like the floody beam) and i would prefer a warmer tint. but for the intended role and what you get for the price its good. These are an upgrade from CMG infinity AA lighs (discontinued) in my small kits - which I still have and use (they do work well even after 20y... but were a bit underpowered, haha :)) We`ll see if these last as long... As an EDC keychain carry which is used daily I`d prefer something else though. Button operated, rechargable internal akkus or shorter runtimes dont concern me as much there. there is plenty of options in this category avaliable nowadays but for survival/emergency kit small lights with long runtime and replaceable battery - the pickings are much slimmer.

It's probably not the best light, but for the price it's handy to keep in the car and versatile to say the least. I bought six and gave them to wife sons and daughters. It's great as a power bank just to get you out of trouble but don't fully charge your phone as it could damage it, disconnect around 90% and you should be fine.

@nighthawkflyer Thanks for your comment! This torch takes both the regular sized 21700 batteries and the slightly longer ones which not all torches can. It's also very compact and built like a tank. For those reasons and more, there are plenty of people who use this torch as their EDC light.

@@mrwan7010 it's a nice little light. Just annoyed with the UI. It's a versatile light. You can attach a tail magnet and the clip can be attached to your cap. @NoMercyInc Thanks for that information about the LED. This was the first time I saw one of these, hence my lack of knowledge about it. The Marauder Mini is a different flashlight, more complete and more complex, and surely can be used for different purposes. The Javelot Mini serves the single purpose of a "small" pocket thrower, although underpowered due to the 18500 cell. An 18650 or a 21700 in this format would be better in my opinion. Still, the price of the Marauder Mini and the Javelot Mini can weigh in the decision of buying one or the other, which is why this one still has a place in the market, despite the cons.
