I really don’t do any thermal gliding with it so I don’t know what the potential flight time would be. Aggressive power on flights as shown in the video are about 5 minutes.

No rudder to aileron mixing. I always manually input rudder and elevator while rolling. To be honest the Valiant doesn’t need a lot of input as it rolls very nice, especially for a high wing.

Beautiful video and location where you're float flying. I'm curious to know what you use in case you ever need to recover the plane from the lake? Thanks!
@michaelclinerc321115 күн бұрын
Fortunately (fingers crossed) I haven’t needed a recovery craft. I’m pretty fussy about the weather when I float fly so that shouldn’t be an issue. The lake is rather small also so if I did have an issue it would drift to shore.

Sweet flight. It does have good presence in the air.

It flies really nice Doug. Not only is it very easy to hand launch in SAFE, it’s also very stable in flight but aerobatic when you want it to be.

I'm not in love with the ME-262, but this one flies really well. I really like the UMX F-86, my Dad flew them, but don't like the higher stall speed, landing distance, and low speed handling qualities. At the speeds most RC planes fly, swept wings are a detriment, no matter how cool they look. I really prefer the talking videos. Keep em coming. Also, would you include rates, expo, and CG information in all of your videos? Thanks.
@michaelclinerc321119 күн бұрын
I was on the fence for quite a while before finally pulling the trigger and ordering the 262. I’m really liking it and I think it flies like a sport jet. I also have been enjoying the F-86. It is also a very nice flying EDF. I avoid banking it far if trying to turn it tight as it will drop the inside wing if I get it to steep. Otherwise it’s really a fun little EDF. Thanks for confirming that I should keep narrating the videos.

Another thing I found handy when training students using the aeroscout Via a buddy box is to do an aleron to Rudder mix on a switch so that when the student is flying in safe mode I can flip the switch so the arrow Scout is a lot more sensitive in safe mode so the student doesn't keep getting used to just jamming the sticks all the way left and right.

Well, after watching your past videos I would have never guessed you were older than me, I'm 65 and recently bought an aeroscout and also put floats on it and I would have to agree it's a very fun plane to fly. Superb flying as usual. 👍 I like hearing your choice on expo, it reaffirms similar settings I use. When I have a real sensitive control surface, I'll crank expo up between 40-50% a lot of times. A few years ago I had a 3D plane that I wasn't ready for and flew it with 70% expo and low rates. This year I'm flying it with 30% expo and doing fine.
@michaelclinerc321119 күн бұрын
Thank you!!! Expo is very much a personal preference but the 40% to 50% range seems to work best for me. As I’ve gotten older my thumbs aren’t as steady as they once were.
