What you’re hearing is anxiety, not happiness. This song is all about not showing your true self/feelings to the world. To me, this was the most heartbreaking song on the album!

Imagine ending a 6 year relationship right before your biggest world wide tour. Then you find a fun guy from your past you always wondered about dating, he brings you back to life, her fans hated him so much they were doing bets and monologues about how terrible he is. And then he ghosts her! And she still has to go on stage for months at a time!! It's a "simple" song, but how do you put those feelings into a positive song. She is Good.

My favorite part of the lyric video is the first time she says "breaking down I hit the floor" with her dropping to her knees on stage. Low range, I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can) is fantastic.

The song is extremely sad actually. And yes, the reason she sounded fake happy in the choruses is because that is what the song is about, her having to fake being happy during a time of depression and heartbreak because she had a tour to do.

If you like her lower range you should react to Carolina! Taylor wrote it when she read Where the crawdads sing, and when the movie came out she called and gave it to them because she loved the story… it takes place in the 50s so Taylor recorded it in one take as they did at the time, with only instruments used then

Ok here we go We assumed the song is about Matty Healy ( the lead singer of the 1975, many of this album songs are about him) their story began allegedly on 2014 and they had a short fling, years went by and they had other relationships but he was always in the back of her mind in some sort of right person wrong time situation. After Taylor’s almost 7 year relationship with Joe was ending last year. She started going out with Matty,they only lasted for about a month and based on other tracks on the album, he basically love bombed her and promised everything and more ( weddings, babies, true love, etc) to her just to ghost her weeks later 🥲 So in this song she is talking about how we thought she was doing great, leading the biggest tour in the world… and how she was really feeling during that time. When she sings this song live, it starts with Taylor dead after her lover kills her and breaks her heart(the smallest man who ever lived, another song about Matty) . And two guys wake her up just to perform and force her to put on a show when she doesn’t want to ( lights camera bitch smile even when you wanna die) and many of the dance routines she does during this song are snippets of routines in other songs she performs on the tour, meaning how during that time she was just doing everything automatically and pretending to have a good time. 😢

It's a fun track, but ICDIWABH is, for sure, one of my least favorite songs of TTPD. You should've reacted to the music video of this song that she released recently, it's a compilation of some backstage scenes of The Eras Tour. By the way, I would like to see a reaction of some different artists, even though I love Taylor. You could react to some of the VMA performances.

I'm a rhythm and lyrics girl. I can't play an instrument, but I have rhythm, vocals, and lyricism. It takes a team to create an entire picture, and Taylor has always had a team. She has a band, a back up singer group, the ability to direct the imagery in her mind. I haven't liked every single thing she's created, but I have loved most of it.

For me, Lunch is one the worst songs of the album, which shows the high quality of Hit Me Hard And Soft. My Favorite ones are The Greatest and Birds of a Feather.
