Ate josie ginisang ampalaya is my favourite breakfast meal but the way my mom cooked it before is the same as you do you know typical ilokano thing and you like to use tomatoes in almost anything you cook we ilonggos are different especially the karsy-a ones. Before i used to do that smashing, fermenting and di-moisturized the bitter gourd to remove the bitterness with the salt but i found out that in nutrition says that removing the bitterness of the ampalaya is actually wrong and a waste in since all the necessary nutrients the anti cancer properties, fiber and traced minerals and nutrients are thrown out into the drain leaving us the cellulose and the hard part of the vegetable as the actual chunks of vegetable in cooking and the way you cook your ampalaya is seems overcooked making the whole food contains less nutritional value, the taste is outstanding but it contains more salt, preservatives and food enhancers as the actuall food in our plate you know with the added egg bits as a form of extenders and flavor enhancers as well. After knowing that i stop fermenting my ampalaya with salt anymore and if you are a diabetic person i suggest cooke and consume and without removing the bitter sap in it because that is where your sugar will go down and that make the whole food become more beneficial. Nowadays here in the Philippines more and more ampalaya vari3are coming out with less or minimal bitterness in them East West Seed Company has developed varieties that are less bitter with still antidiabetic properties and their nutritional value still the same that's why i have my Galaxy Max F1 as my seedlings in planting ampalaya and heirloom varieties like our native is seldom to be found anymore because of the hybrids created by the seed companies. Anyways i enjoy watching your videos, yugesh reaction is always priceless and very precious to me she is my second favorite after kyle i always looking forward to watch your vlog because im excited to see Miss Yugesh reaction aside from Kyle. By the way i miss beccas red wine hair.

I hated ampy nung bata ako. Ngayon, kahit gaano kapait, sarap na sarap ako. Di lang bunga, pati dahon kinakain ko na. Napilitan kasi akong kainin nung bata ako dahil yun lang meron pero masarap yung luto ng tita ko kaya nagustuhan ko rin. Kailangan lang sarapan yung luto talaga. Katuwa si Kyle always.

The way my dad cooks bitter gourd is actually the best for me❤. He doesn't need to mash it with salt or do anything prior to cooking. He just stir fries it after slicing, doesn't put on the lid, add the eggs, and remove from heat as soon as the eggs are cooked. It's color is still green after cooking, much like half cooked and has a little bit of crunch to it. Because when I overcook bitter gourd, it would become too bitter even for me. Though by using this method, the nutrients of the bitter gourd won't be wasted (at least I think so).😊

I dont how to describe Kyle's reaction. He is so funny. Sa lahat ng tumikim ng ampalaya, sa knya ako natawa ng sobra. Pero in fairness, naubos nya yung 2 servings. Nkkatawa tlga 😂

Isa pong popular dish sa mga Muslim sa Mindanao is yung Beef Rendang. Kya lang po kc, internationally speaking, mas popular po yung sa Indonesian version. Ang hanapin nyo po yung Filipino version ng Rendang.

Ate Jossie, try to cook po again and no need to smash the ampalaya. You just need hot water and pour in ampalaya, cover it and leave it for 5 minutes. Drain the water before sautéing po. Ampalaya more crunchy and greeny color 😂. Hope you try po. Better than smashing 😊

When I’m cooking this madam I put pork or chicken na sahog.. mas masarap sya kase kung itlog lang it’s bland for me.. ska ampalaya tlga Walang echos na alisin ang pait.. minsan nga nilalaga ko yan then eat it..

Sarap kaya ng amplaya lalo na at diabetic ka, nakakatulong yan ng malaki para bumaba ang sugar level mo. Ako, ginagawa ko pa yang salad. Sarap kaya!Pero may mga tao talagang ayaw sa amplaya dahil sa bitterness kaya understandable naman yung reaction ng iba.

Ate Josie this is what I know from the sayings noong araw na pag hinahalo ang ampalaya habang niluluto ay lalong pumapait let it simmer a bit in a medium heat saka haluin pag medyo luto na ang ampalaya until it completely cook.

I've tasted this before and it's not that much to my liking. I'll eat it, especially if someone else bought it, for sure. But I like the chewy one with cheese only as toppings more 😁
