When you sign a contract with a broker if you see a word in the contract called offset the word offset means you give them the wright to keep your money that's what's in tql contract if you haul freight for tql your an idiot admiral merchant doesn't even haul freight for tql peace

I feel like I was trained the old fashioned way. Borrowed an old dump truck and pup from a friend, and had him ride with and teach me. He was an old grizzled cowboy who owned a trucking company in the 60s. After I learned the ropes, took my driving test and passed.

I know this is two years old, but the fact remains, you have to really educate yourself and talk to recruiters while being armed with knowledge and common sense. So that you can detect the bull crap that they talk. At the end of the day their bonus is based off of how many people they bring into the company. I have seen jobs that pay absolutely horribly. A lot of these mega carriers will hire brand new CDL holders and then lowball the crap out of them while they are out there away from home for weeks of at a time. Have realistic expectations about pay, but also don’t accept horrible lowball offers just because of being new. Driving is a huge responsibility and the pay should reflect that in a fair way. I’ve come across several jobs that don’t want to pay you anything during training hardly and very little after.

I can’t understand how or why they haul cheap freight and make any money. It is frustrating because you see the same load posted multiple times with different rates and of course when you call they say oh, that’s not the actual rate, it’s really this low ball rate. We need to stand together like the ship yard people are doing.

This story is a great example of why anyone that interacts with the police should record (video and audio) the police. It is the only way to have true transparency of the situation. A majority of officers think that they are above the law.
