I actually had pancakes like that this morning after watching this yesterday. 🥞🤤🤤🤤 so worth it. Also I love Mitsuri is very fascinated with the western culture. The music box, ballet, pancakes, even her mansion has a western look to it.

Having read the manga, I was pleasantly surprised by how much they were expanding on each Hashira’s character because it fulfilled that desire for more Demon Slayer content. I was, however, similarly disappointed by how stringent they were with Mitsuri’s segment, so I greatly empathize with the rant. Just wanted to say you’re not alone in that (not that you need me to) and I enjoyed your reaction vid. 👍🏼

Muichiro is a prodigy, but that doesn't change the fact he worked himself like crazy. Also there's no reason to mention the manga. Mitsuri is a wonderful fully fleshed out character there. It isn't the manga's fault the anime did this.

The Mitsuri sequence was such an obvious afterthought where they clearly just made sure to hit the comedic high-points and then move on.

Might be an unpopular opinion, but I really don't think Mitsuri being a female character is the problem here. It's just that she is presented as a less serious character first and foremost. So spending more times with her wouldn't have revealed a new side to her since she's basically always the same, as opposed to Muichiro. Also Shinobu is one of the most popular Hashiras so again, I don't think the argument "women vs men" matters here

Mitsuri is definitely not always the same and there's even a whole side story that heavily focuses on her for them to adapt

I completely agreed they should have shown mitsuri's session more though it was basically being able to do a full split so I also understand how they must have found it hard to expand more on 😅

They're 100% aiming for the cliffhanger ending for the season to drive everyone insane. That's why this one was a bit rushed.

Not really no. This season is 8 episodes only. There was no problem with adding another episode to Mitsuri. But I gotta say, I'm glad we didn't get a full episode eating pancakes and dancing around. I can get behing the paperplane scene but this would have just been excrutiating to watch. Not that I am against character development but this would have felt so out of place in the context of "we gotta train as fast and as hard as we can to defeat Muzan"

100% agree with you re: Mitsuri. I think it would've improved the pacing and narrative if they had given half of Muichiro's episode to Mitsuri. That way we would've not only gotten more Mitsuri, but could've gotten a little more of Sanemi and Obanai. Also, they had Muichiro and Tanjiro talk about Nezuko, but to me it would make more sense for Mitsuri to ask about Nezuko, since they have sisterly bond.

They didnt need to give more of obanai and sanemi. The both of them have been in 4/5 episodes this season

Tbf mitsuri is definitely the only under utilized female in the story damn near every other female main character contributes something important to the story😭

​​@@dontrellwalton8267 Mitsuri's contribution in the past arc was an important event, though. Tanjiro would've died if she was late for a second, and without Tanjiro, the hashiras would get obliterated. I don't know what you meant by contribution. The story would've ended without her.

@@dontrellwalton8267 The author rushed the ending, so it was just about average. Hashiras that got to shine in the past arcs weren't given relevance to the final arc, like Tengen, Muichiro, and Mitsuri. Mitsuri has made overall contributions and so did the others. Just not in the final arc.

I was very disappointed when I heard the title for this episode. As a manga reader, I knew what was coming, but I wanted to believe in UFOTable that they will at least give Mitsuri and Obanai 30% of the episode each, and leave the remaining 40% to Sanemi, But they didn't. They gave Mitsuri 10%, Obanai 25%, Sanemi 60%, and Giyomei 5% of the episode. I imagined they could have had another "Trainees Vs Hashira" battle like they did with Tengen. This is how I imagined it would go: She would stand in the middle of the room. The trainees stand on one far end of the room, and they have to cross to the other side. But here's the catch, Mitsuri would use two whips to hit them, stop them, push them back, disarm them, and considering how strong she is, throw them around. She would relentlessly whip the air, and the trainees need to weave through her whipping. This would show how strong and ruthless she can be once she gets serious. But alas, her and Obanai hardly get anything, even when we have a season of anime exclusives.
