Wow I can't believe how much the paint has faded. One tip is if you wash it my hand and with a normal garden hose the paint shouldn't flake off like that. Maybe that area was a spot you didn't sand back properly when you originally painted the car. Watching this makes me wish I still had my Foz.
@ALNSMOVERLAND10 күн бұрын
Yeah every parts where the paint flake is where I didn't prep enough before spraying ! But when it's correctly done, it's doesn't move at all ! But yeah the fading is still very impressive! Thank you so much for your comment ✌️ I'm glad to see you here

@@ALNSMOVERLAND I'd rather the faded colour hahaha. I think it looks better
@ALNSMOVERLAND10 күн бұрын
I agree that the "original" paint is really brownish, maybe too much. But now that it is faded it's too close to a bright yellow for my taste. I guess I have more work to do ahaha

I always leave a bucket of DampRid in my cars/trucks and clean them before parking and covering. I bought a pair of car tents off amazon along with a couple of solar powered fans to keep the moisture at bay. Just survived the first snow/ice storm without a problem and dry too.

I used this technique today to get my fwd Passat unstuck from a snow pile! Underneath was ice with zero traction for tires. Could not go forward or back anymore. Fortunately I was carrying the winch and straps after I got badly stuck on a muddy trail years ago. Setup and winching took only 15 minutes. The hardest part was getting the strap knots loose afterwards!
@ALNSMOVERLAND11 күн бұрын
Yeeeeeeah nice work mate 👊 it's useful in a lot of situations! Not just offroading
@GettingOutsideThe9to57 күн бұрын
How many straps do you carry with you? I am about to invest in this setup, but I am a bit confused on how you deal with variable distancee to your anchor point. In this video it looks like the strap and winch cable just so happen to be the perfect distance... but what if the nearest tree is 100 feet away?
@RaivoLaanemets6 күн бұрын
@@GettingOutsideThe9to5 I'm carrying two 8m 5 ton traps. I sometimes need them for holding down cargo in the cart. In the future I would also like to carry maybe a 20m rope. I live in South-Estonia and we have trees everywhere and probably don't need too long rope.

Good to see you again Jordan. I hope it's a great year for you and Lizanne. Did you go to any Olympic game events, or stay out of Paris to avoid the crowds? I do a little bit of work to my 2005 2.5L SG Forester but I have to pace myself to not over spend. Last big expense was new headlights but not OEM, they were after market from ebay and about 1/3 the cost. Next repairs are timing belt and water pump. I was going to rebuild an engine that was given to me but after calculating the cost I decided not to. I have 3D printed some parts for my foz which has been interesting and fun and sometimes frustrating. I find I get road noise and wind noise with my foz, so content on noise reduction would be interesting.
@ALNSMOVERLAND16 күн бұрын
Hey there ! Thank you and happy new year too ! We didn't went to the Olympic games but watched a few on TV. I'm glad to hear that your build is coming together, managing spend is always a struggle I know that too well ahaha I would love to completely rebuild an engine, that's a nice project but indeed can cost a lot. I also have a lot of noise / wind noise on both of my foz and never dig into that, it could be a nice subject, I will add that to my list ! thanks again my friend, I'm glad to see you here
