For people who have issues with the weight paint. Go back to "adding bones" 4:08 I just had the same problem, BUT, He selected the first bone, and THEN he went to Edit mode.. (he says it wrong in the video) In Edit mode he duplicates the bone, NOT in Object mode. ALL bones are WITHIN the first bone. now it works exactly like his.
@ArmouredAvian6 күн бұрын
Please don't spam every comment. I do say "in edit mode and duplicate the bone". If you duplicate the bone in object mode your going to create a second armature If you have a bunch of armatures then your object modifiers are not going to work as it's set to use just one.
@smitteree6 күн бұрын
@@ArmouredAvian Not spamming every comment mate, just the 2 who had the same issue in case they want to revisit. You say, go to edit mode, now select the bone....... and duplicate it. When you have to select the bone, then go to edit mode. I've rewatched it like 20 times and because I'm dumb I missed that. So I'm just helping out your viewers mate. one dude said "I had problem when I use weight paint with Trigger it working But for Other Not Working it not parent to bone when I Weight Paint It" This is EXACTLY what happened to me. which happens when you create multiple armatures, then you can paint those all you want, but they wont pose. Just like me, people are dumb sometimes, and mess something up, because they see one thing, while hearing the other. Your videos are awesome, but if you get more viewers and more comments, get ready for "comment hell" If you think this was spamming...
@ArmouredAvian6 күн бұрын
The issues those people were having were completely different to your issue. One person was using an older blender version so the weight paint fill shortcut was not working. Another forgot to add the armature modifier to the trigger. I had already solved their issues because they liked my comment, confirming it was fixed. Your issue is that you seem to be rushing the tutorial and jumping to conclusions. You need to slow down and think before you act.

Hi, you have nice tutorial. i have a question. I dont know if i understand correctly but the steps are 1. create rig for the character, 2. add accesories, 3. add weight paint to the accesories, 4. parent the accesories to the main rig. Is that correct?
@ArmouredAvian9 күн бұрын
Are you talking about ths stages in this video in particular, or Part 1 to Part 6 in the series?

In that case yes, your steps are correct. You should already have a character rig, if you watch part one it will show you how to acquire a character pack. Part 3 will show you in more detail how to transfer weight paint onto a piece of clothing or accessory.

This is very cool, please tell us how you made the comic book style in Photoshop? It’s just not very clear in timelapse, I’ve been looking for ways for a long time but I still don’t understand, I’ll be very grateful if you tell me in detail how to achieve this style
@ArmouredAvian10 күн бұрын
I've made a second time-lapse where I've dedicated more time to the line art process. In summary you duplicate your render and use 2 Photoshop filters Stamp and Photocopy. Stamp is for line art and shadows. Photocopy is for detail. You then overlay those filtered edits and use the mask tool to hide or reveal detail.

Luego puedes reutilar esos escenarios haciéndole modificaciones.

After repeatedly watching the video, I still have some questions. As a beginner, some of these might be quite basic, but regardless, the video was excellent and has instilled in me a sense of hope that I can successfully get this 3D comic project done. 1. Is kit bashing essentially the of merging various 3D model pieces together? If so, could this method also be applied to creating backgrounds such as cities, rooms, houses, forests, and so on? 2. How did you approach creating different scenes for each panel? Did you construct individual scenes within Blender and then render the entire scene at once, or did you render each element separately?
@ArmouredAvian2 ай бұрын
Thanks for such a detailed comment. 1. Yes Kitbashing is basically taking a bunch of models or packs stripping them down and making something new. For cities and rooms and forests there are several asset packs Kitbash3D, Big Medium Small, Quixel Mega Scans (Quixel is free for Epic Games accounts) and Geo Scatter. 2. If you look at the outliner in Blender you will see I've created several collections and named them Scene. This is for each panel in the comics story. I then go through the sequence, revealing one collection, rendering it, then revealing the next one. Until I have several Renders in sequence. If you're interested in learning how to Kitbash a gun I made a tutorial on Rigging an AKS-74U and Kitbashing it into a modern tactical weapon.

Could be your Blender version, they changed and added some new keybind functions for Weight Painting in 4.0 Use the Gradient Tool set to value of 1 and give the object couple broad swipes instead, to fill it. Ctrl-X is listed in 4.1's manual for filling an object. For Menu access go to "Weight" -> "Set Weight" docs.blender.org/manual/en/latest/sculpt_paint/weight_paint/editing.html#set-weight

Probably in future, got series on Daz Studio in the works currently. But basically in the animation workspace you select a part, like the bolt bone. Make a location key frame, Move the timeline forward, Then move the bolt bone backwards, Then create another location keyframe. Copy the first keyframe you made and move it to the end of your timeline. You should get a reciprocating bolt animation that way.

So I ran into a bit of a problem: All of my texture are now pink, even when I use the "Find missing texture". It seems like the .vtf files can't get loaded in blender ? Should I redo the whoel project ?
@ArmouredAvian5 ай бұрын
If you have unpacked the Resources from the Blender scene, it will create a folder called "textures" next to your Blend file, which will house a bunch of Targa files or PNGs, which your Blender scene will be sourcing from. If you have moved the Blend file to a new location you will break the connection with that texture folder. In "Blender Character Kitbashing: The Basics Part 1" at (05:41) you will see the folder which the unpacked textures will appear in. Don't delete the "textures" folder and keep all your files in the "Kitbash Project" folder. If you want to move the Blend file so it's on your desktop create a shortcut for it and put that on your desktop.

Hello Sir, have a question. I've noticed that you didn't go into edit mode of the bulletproof jacket to expand it a little at the bottom (to get rid of clipping with the jacket that's underneath.) Why is that? Would this influence or makes it harder to copy weight paint later or just because you didn't wanted to? Asking because im wondering how much and how i can influence (change, remodel or add other element etc.) the kitbashing elements before copying the weights form something else. Thank you in advance.
