Greetings from the province of Pontassieve in Florence, Italy, I see that many 4x4 off-road vehicles in this place are not equipped with specific mud tires, it seems to me that they have All Terrain tires that are not good on these dirt roads with the presence of mud?

I in Italy in the province of Florence have a small Suzuki Jimny 4x4 all original with a 1.3 LT gasoline engine m13a from 2001 that I use to go to the countryside and to the mountains on dirt roads and forests and I use it to tackle dirt roads with mud. You need some weight on the back or the rear wheels will slide if you brake hard. You sure put a lot of confidence in those new brakes to go barreling down the highway before short run testing them. But hell I probably would have done the same thing...

These trucks never were known for ride quality, and the fact that you don't have anything on the rear frame, don't help. 45 to 50 empty is about all they were designed to run, anything faster and you can't stop very well. Radial tires and front shocks help. BTW, here on the farm we have several old trucks with the hydro vac, including a N750, they all have poor stopping ability, only the ones with air brakes are decent to get stopped. Can't count how many times we had to swerve off the road to avoid rearending some one who stopped short in front of us!
@frankwurth53752 ай бұрын
Those tempermental Hydro vacs are the most miserable POS ever put on a truck! Back when the truck was new, they only worked marginally. Now that their old, forget it! Can't get new units anymore, and the rebuilt ones are a joke. Those that you can find, have been on the shelf for so long that their non functioning. In order for the thing to actually work, the whole brake system has to be in a perfect working order. That means all wheel cylinders must be like new, brakes adjusted up close, master in good order, vacuum must be up to specs, and all vac lines new! Then you might have a chance. And over all else, the hand brake must be good, in all likely hood you'll still need it to stop the damn thing! When these trucks were new, it was normal to see them in the shop often for brake issues, no matter the make as they all used those same units. You know it's a issue when the shops back then kept them on the shelf.
