85 F350 Off Road

Love the old ‘80s models. Tough Goddamn trucks. One of the best trucks I ever owned was an old 5.0 liter 302. It was a real tank in snow. Looking at a 1986 F-250 project right now that I might grab up and put on the channel.

This video just made me want an old IH diesel even more than I already do. Wish I hadn't settled on a 460 for my F350 but finding the wiring harness for a diesel would not be easy in my area.

@@keith2860 1983-1986 Diesels have a different wiring harness in the cab than gasser trucks.

I have 3 of the Bullnose F250 4x4's I gotta get off my tail and figure out the wiring nightmare on my IDI so I finally get power to my taillights. I also have a '90 Bricknose Supercrew 4x4 460 5 speed and a '94 Aeronose that was a 351 Windsor 5 speed rig. I want to build that one as a flatbed/flatbed camper overlanding rig with a front coil spring conversion on the Dana 50TTB. I'm putting a '69 block 300I6 in my first '82 F250 with the NP435 and the an Aussiespeed 4V intake and the heavy duty exhaust manifold, Duraspark II distributor and oil pan and pickup to match the truck. Can't beat the Bullnose trucks.

Nice solid front axle , the whining in the gearings is normal. You have 3.55 s one of mine is 4.11 it also has the 6.9 . It good for what it's good for. What trans is that using I was considering flipping out to a heavier 4 sp. I have one on hand it came from a 302 , would it work for the 6.9 ?

10 4 thanks, it a T19 4 speed idk on the f150 series if it a t18 or same t19 only issue i could see u havijg is bell housing qont work and splines may be a differnt number

@@PappProductions just for conversation the bell is changeable, the 4 so trans is a np 435 out of a 250 85 I would think I yanked it from. I never did like the t 18 or 19 trans. I gather it a better box overall and hi gear is slightly over gear would go great with the 4.11. Thanks for response

@@mchl8 i may look at a np 435 to buy then lol i was thinking a zf5 to swap bjt i like the 4 speed boxes, I need a little more gear in 4th still too high of rpm for me. I think bell house for 6.9 is a sae 2

@@PappProductions just for saying the zf5 you have to watch: I didn't go that route that box is known for the input bearing going out. With it being a cast aluminum casing you never save the housing and the transfer box is different. It starts to change alot of things underneath. Maybe an early style 5 sp. Not zf series Look I invite you to my channel I do have some interesting things. Go back like 2-3 yrs

You good to go man, theres only one part that u may need 4 wheel drive but i think if u use momentum u could shoot up it
