Thank you for the information I am a high porosity, happily greying women. The greying started (40) I fought it for 10 years than gave in and embraced the process. I've stopped the purple shampoo because it started making my scalp itch. Adding baking soda to my clarifying shampoo is doing the trick and the apple cider vinegar makes my locks feel soft. Are there any oils that you can suggest that don't yellow the grey?

I went to a cosmetologist to try to get blue hair dye stain off my white hair. She used Malibu. It did nothing to the blue. 3 days later my white roots from grow out turned pink!! Reseach told me this is what happened. I reached out to Malibu and they claim leaving undo goo on for 20 minutes under a dryer should remove the pink/beige.

Do you know how to get the dark hair lighter like the gray without bleaching
@QuickSilverHair
@QuickSilverHair 5 күн бұрын
If it is your natural dark hair the only way for it to be lighter is through the natural process of losing pigment. Eventually, it will be lighter as time goes on. The only way to “lighten” dark hair with a process is through using a bleaching agent.

Ideally, you want to apply protection before heat. When you use heat and then sleep on your hair, you have deteriorated with the use of heat and rubbed off on your pillowcase some of that protection. Best to apply directly before use of heat.

@@zulmabontiffe487 hi. So this is like a purple conditioner. So you would clarify or shampoo your hair first, you need clean hair for it to deposit, if you have other products in the way it will not be even or stay as long. On white hair it does leave a tint depending on which one you choose. If you would like to add some shine to your hair I would recommend a CLEAR gloss like the one from Glaze. In all realty this may only be a day or so of shine though. Given you wash every couple of days. Depending on your hair type shine may harder to achieve than you think. I have done the last two you mentioned recently. I got upset d/t a large dark spot on the top back of my head that was not white like most of the rest of my hair, so I went back to my same golden med blonde I've used, and was close to my real color early in life. Then I ruined the pretty longer layered haircut that I had by cutting it too short. I was missing my clothes after the weight gain that I can't get rid of no matter what I do. I'm older, disabled, and basically home/bed bound. Your hair is so beautiful! I too have some curl to my hair...I do notice it curls more when there is color on it for some reason. I noticed when it was all grey that I was having to put rollers in to get the curl/wave I was used to having. I don't dry my hair normally, unless it's just a short blow as I'm drying my body after a shower to get excess water out. No styling tools or products. I do use a mouse or scrunch spray to get my curls to be more defined. But that's about all. I'm really mad that I have this polka dot of dark hair I can't do anything but try to hide in an obvious place. And that I ruined my hair. But it's just hair and it will grow out again if I live long enough. I thank you for sharing your wisdom with us. You look so very young. I started greying in my early teens, but it was trauma based and went away mostly. Then I enjoyed years of being a bottle blonde. Just to brighten it up for about a 10 minute processing time. I liked the shine and how it helped my hair to not get oily as fast. Oh I was an oil factory from about age 8 till the last 10 years, of my 50's...I'm over 60 now. Golden years my foot! Enjoy your life and your gorgeous hair dear!

I would take a bet that your hair is far more beautiful than you think it is. It is difficult to see ourselves in our best light when we aren’t feeling our best. It’s very normal to have darker and lighter areas in your hair. I have a white streak on my left temple and a dark streak on my right, and then the back of my hair at the nape is still brown. The loss of curl without dye is also normal. Dye damaged your hair and raised the porosity which your curls “liked”. I have more videos about my journey with my curls and my gray hair on my channel, I started going gray when I was 13 and I lost a lot of my curls when I ditched the dye. It can all be very frustrating at times but it is part of the process of aging. I know how frustrating and defeating it can feel to be trapped in a body you don’t recognize and an illness or disability that saps your joy. I hope you find all the little joys you can everyday despite this. Be well and 🌟💎 Shine On! 💎🌟

Showering and washing my hair, with my left hand free and the other bound in a plastic bag is an absolute frustration. I do not have the strength to squeeze the shampoo or conditioner bottles to dispense product. I think a pump would work brilliantly. The Neuro Sleek Hot Brush looks to be very useful too! Here is the link to what I used: amzn.to/4ioAL6P I put them on everything they fit on. One thing is to get liquid body soap and shower pouf, hang the pouf off the bottle and pump the soap onto the pouf. My right arm was in a sling, immobilized almost completely, for six weeks. I had to sleep in the sling flat on my back, I had a wedge pillow, I ended up needing the next one down to graduate slowly to flat on the bed again. It was a nightmare and very hot. I could use my right hand a little bit for balancing things and holding small light weight things. I have been doing daily PT at home and PT with a doc once a week for the last 8 months. It has not been easy, but it wasn’t as hard as I imagined it would be. Things get easier and your mind starts to understand you need to use one hand. @@sabrinagoldberg13 thank you. I am so glad you found this helpful. If it is washday and you have applied your heat protectant before blow drying, you don’t necessarily need more for going onto the next step with a heat tool. But remember the issue of coating all your hair is difficult so this is where you could layer heat protectant and start with a blow out creme for blow drying, and move to the serum before the hot tool. @ thank you, I’ve been doing both, so I will continue that. I don’t go higher than 280 degrees with my heat tool. After applying the heat protection, how long do you recommend waiting for it to dry before curling or straightening?

@ that’s really great, you’re in a very safe zone, as far as heat is concerned.

Thank you for this video. How do we layer heat protection when using a product for volumizing and another one to cover the yellow? My gray has grown out to past my ears and my ends are colored blond. I use Xmondo Super Nova leave in purple foam to cover the old blond and my virgin roots because it helps to blend out the line of demarcation and gives lots of shine. It rinses out with each shampoo. I have the heat protection creams from Seen and Kenra. I use your clay mask periodically with the Malibu C clarifying shampoo or conditioner as well, to keep the roots looking good, too. If my hair needs a shine boost between shampoo days, I'll use your hair oil. Thanks so much!

@@rebeccabb5914 that’s a great question, I would try the foam under the heat protectant. Or I’d switch to a purple conditioner for toning, Loma makes a great one and it might last a little longer than one wash. Ideally the less you have coating your hair below the heat protection, the less chance you have of discoloring product onto your hair. If that makes sense. Be careful with Malibu C products, the only one I feel safe recommending for natural silver hair is Undo Goo. Especially, if you use heat after use. Thank you for your business. 🌟💎 Shine On! 💎🌟

Such good info! I have the Malibu C Undo Goo and also the Hard Water Wellness. For purple shampoo and conditioner I use GemLites in Flawless Diamond. I never thought these color products could be hurting my hair with a heat tool, so this is a revelation. Without these products my old hair color looks awful, a dingy yellow. So far, my roots are not yellow, they are a combination of white and champagne gray on the top and front, with much darker in the back. At least I hope that is a natural color! This whole process of growing out my hair has been challenging. My vanity has really taken a hit having multi- toned hair! And I have at least another year to go. Take care.

@@rebeccabb5914 depending on the product and the settings on your heat tool you can burn the product causing it to discolor. Sometimes this can be fixed with a clarifying treatment like my clay mask. If it is the crystals from Malibu C and they discolor your hair with heat it is permanent. So avoid the crystals/packets, especially. I have a video on the channel if you want to learn more about that. Good luck, it’s a journey but well worth it and good for you learning how what to do to keep your natural color at its best. Oh, and yes darker hair at your nape is completely normal that’s usually the very last of your hair to turn white.

Your video testing heat protection was exceptional. Until then, I always used my hot tools on the highest setting, usually with no protection. So I know about the permanent yellow damage because I have it! It finally made sense why my natural hair never seemed to grow past my ears because I used my curling wand from my ears down. My hair dresser was mystified last year when she could not lighten my ends for the gray blending. Live and learn.

I have not checked out the new line form EcoSlay, I’ve never tried the products because they are flax based and my hair just doesn’t get along with flax. But I’ll go look at them. She’s referenced my blog on her website, a friend sent me the page. I meant to look at all her product then and forgot about it. I’m glad you found the video helpful. 😊

I’m relatively lucky I’ve always had very light blonde hair by choice for years and years and years and I’ve decided to let it all grow out and I have a lot of white silver and some dark at the bottom in the back but I have about 3 inches of growth right now and the rest of the hair is light blonde and you really can’t see a horrible demarcation line and no one really notices it until I take the hair and raise it up so they can see how much roots I have grown out so Transition is going really easy thank goodness.

Hi! I was just wondering if the hair mask works better then Ultra swim shampoo for old chlorine brass build up from shower water? I haven't tried either product yet, I just wanted to ask. (I DO have the chelating shampoo and the deep conditioner though).
@QuickSilverHair
@QuickSilverHair Ай бұрын
@@debraglick8217 Hi. If it is old buildup of chlorine it might be best to use the swimmers shampoo before the clay mask, giving it a deep clarifying treatment to target the chlorine. I have several customers who are avid swimmers and use the mask regularly, they also report it removes the chlorine smell.

Great tips, thank you Jolie! I’ve started wearing hats when I’m outside walking or in the sun a while. They help with less sun exposure to the face too. From your blog post, I bought the BB hairdressers invisible oil. Great product!

Thank you for this video! I've found that the top layer of my hair always has a brassy yellow color. I'm guessing it's sun exposer and heat damage. my hair also feels thinner and dry on the top layer. and I deal with scalp issues along the hair line to the top back of my head. I went through your blog and took notes of the different products and their purposes. Wish me luck!

@@lindaglick6825 hi. For your scalp issues and heat and sun damage, I would highly recommend Seen. Seen Shampoo and Deeper Conditioner are my top recommendation and their leave in and style creams all have UV and Heat protection so you start off on the right foot immediately. The shampoo helps to prevent mineral buildup so it helps keep your hair from getting yellow from minerals in your water. seenhaircare.sjv.io/c/2700406/1020437/12994 𝐒𝐄𝐄𝐍 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐩𝐨𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐝𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝟏𝟎% 𝐨𝐟𝐟 𝐐𝐔𝐈𝐂𝐊𝐒𝐈𝐋𝐕𝐄𝐑𝟏𝟎
