I was in Athens two months ago, but in July, booked at Boss Boutique hotel in City centre, it was really nice. Yes we narrowly missed pick pocketing as there were shady people but they were going on their business. Wished I had seen your videos before I booked hotels. I definitely would go back as I liked Athens.

I like your videos, but sadly cannot recommend the transfer services you suggest. I used the link provided in your description. I paid a premium price for being met and taken to the airport. NSTravel did have a sign with my name, but still made me wait an hour for a car!

should include a tips about driving in the smaller villages. for e.g., wanted to visit pyrgos, but then the only drive out on google maps seemed to be thru the village, but oh boy were they some of the narrowest / tight should be one-way lanes, definitely super stressful and wont recommend lol. pro tip as mentioned is to not rely 100% on google maps for navigation. and stick to the main roads as much as u can

Living on Crete (Rethimno) we'd usually say pita gyro (as in geero,) or just pitogyro (pee toh gee roh).

Don't know about the smaller islands, but on Crete (born and raised there) we drank from the tap as often as from bottles. Depending where you are, it may taste better or worse (due to chlorine) but it's fine either way.

Thanks. I am reaching from Santorini to athense on evening blue star ferry which is scheduled arrival at 11.20pm . Is it possible to take a metro to airport just after that? I see the last metro is at 11.30pm, looks very tight. Will there be any bus options as taxi seems expensive.

awful experience in Athens. After eating dinner at a restaurant we were going back to our hotel and a gang of 7 men attacked us trying to steal my necklace and phone. We fought back but they took the phone. We called the police but they weren't helpful. They suggested to report it tomorrow at the police station, we were also scared to go back to our hotel but they said "ok you can take a taxi". Tomorrow we went to the police station but they said it is not the police station for such reports, when we went to the other one they said 'no it is the other police station because we don't take such report'. We packed our things and left immediately. Never going back again!
