Absolutely true. In April, 2024 I went to the museum in the early afternoon. Long lines for those who did not have a ticket. Glad I went to the museum first before going to the Acropolis.

We paid the extra and had an archaeologist explain and take us around...Very informative...

Went to the Acropolis last week Wednesday super early, bought the tickets online and arrived at the entrance around 7:45 and there was a long line already, waiting for the gates to be open, though I guess its not as crazy during the latter part of the day. At around 10:45 a.m. we went to the Acropolis Museum and it was already crowded (by us😅) and temp was @ 37 degrees.

I've seen there is a big push against tourism in Athens now, both from the government and the locals. This is concerning to me, because I have a trip planned there in a few months. Apparently there have even been some theeats against tourists. Do I need to be worried?

Their website states that reduced tickets for non EU students can only be purchased on-site. Do you happen to know if we can purchase at the end of the day for entrance the following morning and then enter on the skip the line entrance?

Yes that would work. But you take the risk that the timeslot is sold out by then.

Either you buy him a normal full priced ticket, or you buy a 50% discounted ticket in person at the museum. But in that case you will have to enter through the door for those who dont have tickets yet.
