Gotta love how there’s 4 different versions of the same soundtrack, the MT-32 Definitely hits a certain way compared to the Sega, DOS & Spice Opera variants 😋

Hello! The remastered "Dune Spice Opera" digital album now available for download in B@ndCamp features also a dual-sound card (adlib Gold - MT 32) rendering of the full OST in hi-res Audio 96/24, spectrally enhanced with wider stereo and better dynamics, as expanded sound spectrum!

There is some whistling at the start that shouldn't be there. I remember seeing this before and solving it in my childhood. I don't remember how. Definitely had to reset my LAPC-1. Later I got an MQX-16 and CM-32L .

The notes are not supposed to be staccato in the menu start as well. They were longer. Must have been a slightly different version of the game. Back in those days, you couldn't download patches unfortunately.

Seeing this and see if thieves playing out exactly like the image, you go through a ghost portal that leads you to melee Island You get out of the green fog and the music starts playing as you're sailing to the island the exact direction that the title card shows, it's perfect

Amiga version and PC SB version are designed for the game. It could be much better sound design for MT-32. But they didn't do it. Instead just copy pasted notes and made very small adjustment.

I seriously doubt that any effort was worth putting into the MT-32 version since not only did so few people have it but anyone concerned with music of any quality during this time either had an optical drive or an Amiga.

How does this work? You plug it into that Roland MT-32 and then it converts it (the original (16bit??)) into this? Or did someone re-compose this?

The instruments on the MT-32 sounds great, and I can imagine gameplay with this kind of audio quality must have been absolutely stunning back in the day. However, there is one thing I really don’t like about game music on the MT-32, and that is that there seems to be an exaggerated amount of reverb added to the songs by the MT-32 itself. You can even hear the excessive reverb in this video. Is it possible to decrease the amount of reverb in the mix by changing some settings on the MT-32 itself?

Why do you need this? For what? You could download this audio with some YT mp3 reaper. Then edit the settings with Audacity. It's all free and open source. Or choose a different DAW. The power is yours!

Just finished this a week or two ago. I know folks don't necessarily enjoy the parser based era of Sierra games but this one was truly fun. NGL I think it's 90% due to the soundtrack. Hearing Fester's World O' Wonders reminds me of getting my Astro chicken hat, chuckling when I wore it, and then having Arnold throat grab me and watching my hat just blow away in the wind. I was VERY upset over this.

I know this video is 10 years old now, but I need help. I'm almost positive that the track called Quiki-wed wedding chapel is a classical piece. I heard it in a movie recently called Oliver's Ghost. Its not two similar sounding songs. Theyre exactly the same, albeit performed on a piano. (Unless it really is from Larry and the movie stole it.) Does anyone know what it was originally called?

What a nostalgic piece of music! It was 1990 and as an avid gamer and Sierra fan, I used the AdLib sound card for my gaming experience but then bought the Roland M-32 when Space Quest III came out. It sounded so good that I had friends from all over town come over and listen to the intro music of this game and others. It was a turning point in gaming sound quality and I still get goose bumps listening to it!
