I did this in pitch dark with no engine. It was 3 in the morning and thank god I had AIS. I was able to call the captain and ask him to come 5 degrees starboard. I didn’t even think he would answer. But he not only answered but came 5 degrees starboard so I could pass behind him.

How to remove the old seal was a nightmare and unfortunately it is not shown on the video. Conclusion dont try this at home ...just don't do it.

Where did you find the sealing gasket and washer? Did they come with the anode? If so, who did you purchase it from? I ordered the anode, but it arrived without the gasket and washer unfortunately.

Check the pump shaft for a wear grove from the lip on the seal. If your thumb nail catches as you slide it across the SS shaft it replace the shaft..

It's a Loos Tension Meter and the wheel adjusts the backstay tension

No, you do not need to drain the oil!

I had the same question. Why doesn't the oil leak out after the oil seal is out.
