Just ran across your channel. I’ve got an ‘04 Eddie Bauer 4x4 Excursion, 6.0.Bought it in 2014, had it Bulletproofed. I’ve put over 100K in it since I’ve owned it. Love the truck. I’ve had more offers and comments on it than any other rig I’ve owned,

What’s the towing and payload on your truck?
@TheExcursioners2 ай бұрын
We picked up a MDC trailer this year - weighs about 7.5K all loaded up and it tows it just fine. Max towing is 10K. Truck weights about 8.5K. Not sure on max payload, I upgraded to F250 leafs so it bumped the max up.
@woolengrappler2 ай бұрын
@@TheExcursioners thanks! Does the Excursion share a frame with the F250?
@TheExcursioners2 ай бұрын
@@woolengrappler Yes it does - basically same platform.

How did you mount the tire to the roof? Takes up too much space in the rear.
@TheExcursioners3 ай бұрын
I had it directly mounted on the roof - drilled holes and mounts - turns out that was not great as the roof was popping - ended up getting a full size front runner rack and mounting it to that.

What is the cost of one of these for the ex?

The tents are not cheap - I think like $3K - $4K depending on model.

I know this was along time ago - just finding your page as I bought my 3rd Excursion and doing an Overlander build out. Love what you have done - not sure if you will have the hose in the same location - I was thinking that rather than having the hose staying permanently mounted in the door - you could use quick disconnects. Disconnect when traveling - reconnect when stopped.

Still in the door and working well!

What’s up, I have the excursion on my list, but currently I am building a Hummer H2. I am unable to do suspension work on my own, you got those f250 parts in there, if I had some parts, where could I take them to have them installed?

It's nice to see someone who actually gets out and uses his gear. Too many "overlanders" out there on KZbin who just go out and buy all the shiny new gear and likely never use it. You've figured out real-world solutions to making the camping experience better for your family without spending top dollar to do it. Great work!

I have to know, you trust the plastic ramps with an 8k truck? I have same ramps for smaller rides, and know they day will hold, but the risk has me using wood block. How long have you been using them and any issues?

Talk about a sleeper channel! Your content is awesome, I am amazed you do not have a larger following because it is very fun and well made. Awesome to see a family having a blast out in the wilderness with the Excursion. I just bought another one again after 10 years and working on getting it set up for this upcoming summer, I sold mine back in 2015 and I had forgotten just how awesome they are! Keep it up folks!

Love the comment!! We just need to figure out this youtube algorithm - We have spent hours watching much larger channels with so much less quality (obviously I am bias lol) but in any case maybe one day YT algorithm will come to rescue! Nothing beats the good old Excursion - love the truck. Congrats on getting another!
