It's a good thing that you put it on the tent and not the Hood. Solar panels naturally get hot, and if they get too hot they loose their efficiency and excess heat with shorten their life expectancy.

You got a lot of good mods on that excursion. I had started to think about doing something to mine for overlanding but trying to decide now if I will be using the EX or something else. Keep those vids coming, very informative.

I installed two panels directly on the front of the roof. That way you can remove the tent or add remove storage bins and retain the battery charging benefits of the panel.

Great idea - I would have to move my spare tire - the solar on the tent is working well even with it open (so far at least).
