Really appreciate this tutorial. I wish we had a standard way to say "pinky D6" (meaning Pinky finger on the D string at the 6th fret). That seems so much easier for my brain to digest than "pinky on the 6th fret of the 4th string". Which finger, which string, what fret !!! You need to go a lot slower I found this lesson more aggravating than helpful

Seems like your are playing the Cutlass harder, can hear the strings snapping more. Give the truss rod for sure to the Cutlass. Overall tone to the Fender. Many Fender custom shops have reverse wound pickups so there is no buzz. No extra tone wood carved out of the body and no battery box to worry about.

I think you’re mistaken about the “clean circuit”. It’s the pickups not the circuit. This is evidenced by it also being cleaner when the boost is not engaged. ie, you’re conflating the boost feature w the pickup design
