I just come across this Angela during my Autumn project. Fragment paintings seems so right for wooded areas that I'm involved in. So exciting. Thank you for sharing this ❤

If you were to paint the sides of the board what would you use to do that?

I'm so happy to find this here! I couldn't make the live and didn't think I'd be able to see it. Thank you for sharing so much with us.

Nice video, Angela. Like a couple of other viewers I have had success eliminating the spray layer. Dorland’s wax has never smeared my watercolors which never ceases to surprise me. As long as the wood is sealed well, the wax alone works for me. That being said, everyone must feel comfortable trusting their process of choice. I also use Dorland’s to seal my oil paintings instead of varnish. I like the soft satin finish it provides.

Angela, it's been so amazing to see your work over time! Thank you for this reminder to PLAY with watercolor. It's funny that I just did an initial go at a painting using the very same colors. It seems to me that gouache looks really flat and a bit greyed vs watercolor? Have you compared chinese white watercolor straight out of the tube and also lavender in a thick way vs gouache? How do we then classify our work? Is it now mixed media?

I enjoyed this and found it helpful. I have painted with several painting groups and, while I enjoyed the people and painting with them, I could never get helpful feedback when I would try something new. Everyone seemed to be unable to accept anything that didn't look like a photograph, and I found that discouraging at times. This demonstration shows the "art" of being playful when you paint. Thank you.

Hello Angela, I just finished watching your amazing video. It was so inspiring. I was captivated by every mark, swish of your brush; simply loved all of your creative choices. Equally, I was enthralled by your emotional self reasoning - ultimately giving yourself permission to paint and play with abandonment. Thank you! Warmly, Taylor D.

Thank you so much for this...I have property that has a similar aesthetic, I've been unwell and my paintings have reflected this anxious inability to be free. And I was able to let go and create a joyful experience!

I know this is 4 yrs old but a perfect lightfast substitution for opera rose is Daniel Smith quinacridone lilac as it has the same pigment as Opera Rose PR 122 but without the fluorescent dye making it lightfast 😊.

What a great dual video. Ive been thinking about an electric bike for a while but i live on gravel roads so good to see you on gravel roads. Then the encouragement to do plein air. I give paintings away all the time, maybe because I mostly play. LOL

Fat tires help on gravel and of course, having the pedal assist makes maneuvering on gravel so much easier! Go for it!

I grew up not wearing helmets. I think it should be optional. I bet the breeze thru your hair felt just like when you were a kid! Great video. Amazing, wonderful memories of your grandma. I'm a grandma to 3 Lil girls (10-7-3) and I've always made it my goal to make memories with them. The 10 yr old STILL calls me her best friend. They all melt my ❤️.

I always felt like there was a special perk in being the oldest grandchild living nearby - I got to have the first sleepovers at Grandma's house, and my little sister was so jealous when I got to go biking with Grandma! So many wonderful memories from my first years of life living near my grandparents!

You are such an inspiring teacher. Thank you for the Demo al Fresco! I find that riding a bike is the perfect "speed" for observing and selecting a location to paint or sketch from.

That was so much fun Angela. It was like being there with you. We’ve been having some beautiful fall days haven’t we. Unfortunately I’ve been under the weather with a flu/cold through the past four days. Finally got back out to walk the doggo today. Lucky you getting this bike. Your colours are so beautiful. What brand are they?

Fall has been beautiful! Very thankful for these beautiful days. The crayons are neocolor 2, and the paints in my palette are selected from my Daniel Smith Dot Card.

How do you stay safe when alone out there? It's my greatest fear. We live in a crazy world now.
@angelfehrАй бұрын
Sometimes it definitely feels like a challenge to overcome my imagination of what could happen. But I decided a long time ago that I didn't want to let fear stop me from doing things that are good for me. I lean on that.

I actually saw a deer on my ride, we both surprised each other! There is lots of predatory wildlife out here as well, but they tend to avoid encounters with humans.

It is just fun to have the option to hop on the bike and pedal! I'm traveling right now and went for a long walk yesterday, people kept cycling past me and it was hard not to think, "I could be going so much faster right now!" 😄
