can I make node preset and use it across all projects? cause I see it is time consuming process. also would be great to optimize render time and combine this workflow with light groups to use them all together. anyway thanks for sharing this video.

Ehy I came back to this video to understand better and i was wondering, if I have a glare in the composition, how do i render it in each pass?
@ethdavisАй бұрын
You could do it right at the very end by plugging the final mix into the glare node. You could also just plug the emission into the glare node and then add that by using screen at the end .)
@AstroEarthly-e8eАй бұрын
@ethdavis Okay thank you, I guess the second option is better because I am rendering singles passes to export in davinci, so basically i connect the emission to glare, glare to mix screen and mix screen to the emission input of the output node?
@조호흡Ай бұрын
I know that I can extract the denoised passes after checking the compositing box in the property. Is there no way to skip the output in the property and extract only the file output in the compositing tab?

Being a 3D artist and retoucher requires you to be pretty nifty at researching and finding things online; references, materials and more. There isn’t a particular thing you search, you just have to search random things and know what you’re looking for :) hope this helps!

I actually think that brake light looked more hot in the center because of how cameras capture light. Most times hot, very bright, get blown out. In real life it's not that exaggerated

It looks nicer but the physics of the smoke feel off. Shouldn't smoke shoot out at the bottom and top of the wheels. Now it's simply going up slow. There is no momentum of it being push to the back
@ethdavisАй бұрын
Thanks for the comment :)) so I actually tried to hit a reference which was very much upwards rather than outwards, but I do agree this felt a bit off and blobby. Plan to redo this and also in Houdini to see if I can get a simple method that works for all :-)

I am doing excactly as you are showing for the combined denoise but the outcome looks washed out . Is there anything that i might doing wrong ? I am also using my AO.
@ethdavis2 ай бұрын
AO shouldn’t be added on. It is used to add more contact shadow so you would ‘multiply’ it. But you don’t need AO to rebuild the image, it’s an added extra

@@ethdavis Thank you so much for the help . I tried multipling it with the combine and actually got a good result but as soon as i added it to the whole composite the result came out noisy on some parts and i think it is because i used both combine and all the other inputs (diff . trans , gloss...)

Is there a way to make blender centimeter friendly? We can surely set the scene units to centimeters but that doesn't propagate well to default values of meshes. Can one set it such that newly created meshes have 1 cm of dimension instead of 1 m? Also the density values need to be super big at cm scales. I'm in product viz industry so I rarely deal with meters unless product is in a scene setup and this unfriendlyness with other units is keeping me stay with Maya which is getting buggier with updates.
@ethdavis2 ай бұрын
I’ve never tried this, but once you change the scale of a default mesh in the bottom left it normally stays that size. So you could change every primitive then delete them and save a default file so next time you open it stays that way? Again haven’t tried it but might work

You would save you a lot of time to create a group with your dust texture then you have a single place if you wanted to change your dust texture, change the color, anything. Copying and pasting it into every material is quite inefficient. Good tutorial though.
