My problem is not the years of becoming a psychologist but the uncertainty of it. The competitiveness and uncertainty off getting an assistant psychology role & to get on doctorate is the deal breaker for me😪

I'm in a wheelchair and have some mental health issues from PTSD. I've always been interested in psychology as career and study. Would any of my life experience hold me back or could it be seen as a benefit?. I have a high IQ but I do wonder if my health issues could cause more than just some stumbling blocks for me. I'm going to do it regardless, but I'd like to prepare. Ty

Just a note - Psychologist isn’t technically a protected term, you just need to have go the degree. To work with patients? Of course, you then need it. They planned on protecting it a few years ago but it didn’t go anywhere.

Hello,I have a triple major bachelor's degree from India, with psychology as one of the subjects, but I'm having trouble getting admission into psychology programs. Counselors have recommended that I complete a conversion course in psychology. If I follow this route and then pursue a PhD in psychology abroad (excluding the UK), will this approach generally satisfy the entry requirements for phd?

It may be dependent on the trust/uni whether they accept conversion courses, so it would be good to have a look at each specific trust's entry requirements. It should be illegal for any role in the UK to be £18-£20k p/a. You cannot afford to live with that amount in most places in the UK, it’s actually really problematic.

It goes into everything a trainee needs to know to successfully get onto the training and to do well on the course It can be found on amazon. What happened with this? I have just failed one assignment and I’m freaking out that if I don’t pass it again I won’t have a job! (I failed by 1 mark and I have never done poorly on assignment and it is the last assignment)

You will be fine, It is in the interest of the uni to pass you - not fail you. the best thing you can do is round up your supervisors and tutors and make them aware of the effort you are making to pass the course and of course, ask them for support throughout the process. You got this.
