Hello, I would like to ask you, what is the fuel consumption when towing the caravan?
@CaravanTrails17 сағат бұрын
I would say around 25mpg, but it does depend on if it’s a lot of motorways you get a bit more around 30mpg and if you’re doing a lot of single hilly A roads, it’ll be less.

Out of interest what pitch were you on? We go there in July with a twin axle 8m but staying in the star meadow area. Hoping for a bigger pitch although do have motor movers so that will help 🤞🏻
@CaravanTrails2 күн бұрын
We were on pitch 43. It was a fully service pitch. I think they only have about 20 fully service pitches, and they were all in the row we were in (they might have added more now). But if you are going fully serviced, then I would maybe call them to see if you can pick your pitch. I would recommend anything between 31 to 35. They were opposite our pitch and they didn’t have the slope up to the pitch like ours. A motor mover will help you out big time if you have kids. Great site lots for them to do. Hope you have a lovely time 👍

Hi, when I towed my older caravan with 7 pin plugs with my 13 pin car I used a bungee cord to support the cable, this enables the elasticated cord to stretch taking the strain away from the plug wiring, enjoy 2025 caravanning.

You’re definitely right. We had to kind of do the same. Wouldn’t mind swapping it over for a 13-pin plug eventually.

@CaravanTrails8 күн бұрын
Thank you 😁 We expect to get some criticism. I think that’s what happens when you put it on KZbin, but as you said, it’s our caravan, and the beauty of having an older caravan is doing projects like this. So far, so good. If you’re thinking of doing it, I would say go for it! Make it your own! 👍

You'll be better off using propane in very cold weather. Butane suffers in cold conditions, as we discovered many years ago. Change your bottle and regulator and never be cold again in the yard.

Just one tip I've done over the years, is never leaving the caravan brake "On", when caravan is left in storage after the leg steadies are down. It stops the potential issue of the caravan brake being seized on, especially when left over winter storage, and or when I have setup onsite, unless the pitch is on a slope. Keep the tips coming. It's not just for "Newbies" but also as a reminder for experienced caravaners
