What's so bad? That their main selling point are the tritium tubes. There's nothing special about these watches otherwise. There are loads of better alternatives out there if the tubes aren't a "must" for one.

Hopefully the video answers your first question in a fair and honest way with consideration for the pros and cons. I like to think it's a balanced explanation of my own personal views, some stats and facts and a value discussion at different price points.... If tritium tubes are essential and I really wanted to pay the Luminox website price ... then I'd just get a Marathon at similar RRP or a Ball on the grey market 😅

The glasp dug into your skin very evenly. Wouldn't that mean that the shape is pretty spot on? Also, did the strap intself leave a very legible imprint on your skin, altogether suggesting you seem to wear the watch rather tight.🤔

My number one is the Jianghun War Drum. Saw it, fell in love with it, bought the brown one. The "long" strap is a joke and it's a pity because it is a great strap but the watch is awesome. Looks great, feels great and is for sure a bit different - and i found a strap that's long enough and looks similar.

Great video. The movement in the hydroconquest is far superior to the hamilton plus as a brand longines is far better so youre paying for the name and the heritage. Id pick a Tissot over a Hamilton everyday for a entry level swiss watch

Agreed on the movement, the Longines has a fantastic movement. I don't personally have a preference between the history of Hamilton and Longines - they both have an interesting story and some nice historical moments. I saw the AK in person and really like it. I’m ‘on the list’ with several dealers - but in the meantime I bought the Pagani Designs homage. The PD1692 is awesome - it looks fantastic under a loop and on the wrist. If I never get ‘the call’ from the dealer I’ll be fine.

There's other reviews saying the complete opposite. Watch opinions are subjective at best. I've had a GS that had got slated in reviews by and I was impressed and a blue Milgauss that I thought was bang average and was paying for the crown on the dial. I now have this in 43mm. It's fine, nothing special, just a good watch. Just an opinion 😊

Oh 100% - that's entirely my perception of my own channel. I offer some nice video and stats about watches combined with my own interpretation. I regularly encourage viewers to not judge a watch until they get in hand, take every review with a pinch of salt and make their own mind up. That's my mantra. 🙂 What's the saying...opinions are like assholes...everyone's got one an they all stink 😅

Bought an Atacama last month. Its bulky but most beautiful to me. But I got it for 585€ instead of 1k. Wouldn‘t have payed the original price. Any experience with that model concerning waterresistance ? It promises 20bar.

Nope haven't done any hardcore testing but Luminox are adament they test every single watch they produce so that should be reassuring. The atacama is a nice looking watch 🙂👍

To me, it's my Brellum Duobox 39 Chronometer (Limited Edition) chronograph in blue. incredible value for the money (no distributors or dealers), it would be four times the cost from a major brand and the finishing and operation are sublime!

I’ve bought 3 watches this year. First was a Dan Henry 1962, white dial, which I’m wearing today. Then, more recently, two Islanders - a Port Jeff GMT (green dial traveler), and a Calabro GMT (red dial office). On any given day, I’d pick any one them as BEST - but that’s the beauty of this hobby - I don’t have to pick just one! Probably the Best Buy of the year was the Islander bracelet for my Seiko SNK80x watches. Talk about transformation. I wish I could post photos here.

I think my favourite watch of 2024 is my CWC RN Quartz Diver! Like you, it’s a quartz watch. But there’s something about it being an indestructible piece of military issued equipment that can be worn for most purposes. Can only have NATO straps due to its fixed lug bars, but I find that to be a charm of the watch!!

I hear ya. I love my momentum as well. I bought the sea auto and now where that 80% of the time. I feel like it has better construction and looks just a bit nicer. Not sure why. Anyway my Seaquartz is my take anywhere don’t care watch. Love them both and like you it is the look that does it for me.

People come to “reviewers” to decide how to spend their real, hard-earned money. Very well put together. I agree. The best watch for you is the one you ultimately want to put on the wrist most of the time. I bought a Wolbrook Douglas quartz field watch earlier in the year as a replacement for my famous Pulsar Kinetic...and it is pretty much my daily now. It doesn't matter that I haven't reviewed it yet or that it only cost 25% of the price of my prized watches. Its just the watch for the job. Great stuff 😊

It was a slow watch year for me, so I ended up wearing a few of my past purchases quite a bit, and for longer periods of time. My G Shock 5600 got most of the wrist time this year, along with my Marathon. I plan to purchase a Hanhart Pioneer or Preventor at some point next year, so maybe that will be my best of '25.

How funny, just watched this wearing my solar sea quartz. The bezel on mine is good so im guessing been improved for the later slightly thicker solar model. Managed to grab one during 25% discount so covered UK import tax. I also have it on a green sailcloth (25 quid) with orange stiching, I'll put link below. What strap and clasp did you go with? Best of 2024? Diver, Solar Sea Quartz. Chrono, Revelot bonfire mecadromo. Gada, Seiko grey DressKX blew me away as it truly is a watch that can't be pinned down to genre. Not many watches can do that. Possibly the best ever Seiko IMO apart from my black and gilt slim turtle which is probably the fav in my collection and a very under the radar seiko.
