I have yet to play WRC myself but from what im seeing Dirt Rally 2.0 gives you this sense of "urgency" with yiur inputs if that makes sense. Lots of screen shake, loud engine, loud audio feedback I guess. WRC seems like it could be more fitted to its modern WRC spec cars because of the smoothness and relaxed feel. Still excited to try it for myself, i cant get passed rally in beamng for right now though lol

Totdl Legend Marcus. That was awesome. Glad you enjoyed it and finally getting to meet was brilliant. Definitely need to do it again. Hopefully car will be rebuilt in the next month or so. There is a practice day in feb, and hopefully we can get you out there in a less serious environment .

in my opinion DiRT Rally 2.0 physics and graphics wise are better. Just like magoo and pretty much everyone here, none of us have real rallying experience so when it comes to the question "which feels more right" or "which makes more sense", I say DiRT. Every mistake you make in DiRT feels justified to you, you can understand that this and that makes sense, you get my point. Graphics isn't even a question. Audio... I'd say EA WRC has a slight edge since the cars have been re-recorded IRL. Can't say that either is much better because both of them have amazing audio. side note, I hate EA WRC because of the fact that its built in unreal engine. I don't have the latest tech so my PC is very much mid-end. UE indeed looks amazing graphically but its super difficult to run on high settings, especially for dense games like EA WRC. DiRT Rally 2.0's EGO engine (game engine codemasters has been using in literally every other game on their list) is much easier to run, you will never have issues with it, you can run it on pretty much any computer. Also they switched game engines so the maps look better but in my case, it doesn't.

As someone who only plays VR, Dirt Rally 2 is easily on top for me

Basically: Sim racer for a niche vs simcade for mass market What's even the point, they are basically two different games. It would be like comparng Dirt 3 to Dirt Rally.

I have heard people say dirt rally 2.0 has a kind of a false difficulty to it. And the EA WRC is far more realistic in terms of wheel feeling/driving difficulty.

I liked dirt 1 even more, these wrc franchise products are embarrassing, made from the marketing department and not sim racers

For me anyone saying wrc is better are just trying to justify the purchase or was not very good at dirt 2.0. Both games look good but dirt is better. Handling has been toned down in wrc. There are similarities but you get away with much more. I played dirt rally 1 last night and the physics there are better than both of these. It’s quite a higher learning curve. All 3 need more feeling of weight and inertia. The damage model in dirt is better. I think if there was some sort of damage build up before things break and fly off then wrc might be better then. Lastly there’s still plenty of screen tearing on Xbox sx anyway. Last one it’s a wrc licences game but not many classic liveries or drivers, generations was way better in this regard. But if you like it easier then go for wrc. If I had to play just one it’s dirt 2.0 as wrc has too many issues. Ps moments is not actually worth talking about let alone saying it adds anything to the game. 👍🏻

Just like everything with ACC, Looks good but the "sim" part leaves a lot to be desired..

ACC is almost entirely dependent on CPU and only a couple of cores. Your CPU is most likely not able to run Nords with those triples and epic settings. Surprised you didn't feel like you had 40 fps. Or maybe you did and just didn't recognize the issue. A 1080ti still performs quite well in ACC, but you really want a 5800x3d or a 7800x3d CPU now and Nords is more demanding than anything else by far. iRacing certainly has its pros, if it wasn't so disgustingly expensive I'd still be driving there too. The graphics are pretty awful and dated but you get used to it. Kind of like a World of Warcraft of simracing. GT3s however are something ACC will always do better as it's what the sim focuses on.

I agree with what you're saying here. I feel that iRacing with the graphics has left it down a bit to give more systems a chance to run on it better and yet it looks a lot cleaner and less "fuzzy". I feel with ACC, I remember the graphics looking sharper but in the past year, something changed and it seemed to lose that clean focus look. I use VR rather than my screen as it saves me having to move my rig to my desk when I want to do some sim racing. I did however just upgrade my VR headset from the HTC-Vive to a Quest 3 and ACC does look a lot better. I'm also using a RTX 3070 for my GPU although I'm considering upgrading to a RTX 4070 ti in the near future. New subscriber btw.

could you try GT7's nurburgring? it has the most authentic recreation of all sims

Gran turismo 7 has best nurburgring of all sims and it's not even close

I agree with steering rotation. First thing after driving only iracing for 7 months, turned on acc and was like what the hell is going on. That rotation that was neccessery to turn in is crazy. So I put 540 degrees to make it better, but then FFB is weird. Then tune it in. All in all iracing feels better in terms of what I feel on my small R5 Moza..

I started simracing on ACC and spent a good 500 hours there... Switched to iRacing and never looked back. Booted up ACC a few weeks ago and literally couldnt believe how weird/off it feels. As you said, just so disconnected and rubbery.

Everything you say from 10:44 is why I switched from ACC to iRacing and can never look back, it's so far off it's actually annoying knowing how much time I wasted on it. ACC drives like a car that's had the spot welds removed from the frame, no chassis rigidity at all. Both axles seem like they're always trying to catch one another rather than working in sync, and the suspensions are broken too.

The Breaking points ,throttle application and your lines were ????? LOL Seriously though you are right, the feel of ACC is nowhere near as connected as Iracing. Woolly would be the term I would use. I don't like GT3 cars and that all ACC has. I don't like the VR, in ACC. Its horrible. Even AC has much better VR. Who looks at the details at the side of the road, except when taking their first drives and looks, or are reviewing the software. I hate subscriptions and avoid them. Unfortunately sometimes, like Iracing or Zwift they have the best gameplay which keeps me coming back for more.

Dirt 2 is better. Wrc is decent but there’s things missing and it’s not as immersive. Wrc seems like it’s easier to play also. One other thing now that ea have an official licence, where are the Tommy makinnen , seb loeb etc cars and liveries. Not much thought has gone into this title. Generations has better content for wrc history. I have all of those games.

as far as I know in ea wrc the engine noises were taken from real cars. I agree that the gfx in dirt rally 2.0 looked better even if you play ea wrc on ultra settings.

Dirt 2.0 is superior to WRC in most aspects. & in the most important one of all. Physics, hands down. WRC has the physics of a bad street racing game instead of a rally game & no feeling of weight, or weight transfer at all compared to Dirt. Also has a physics engine that doesnt like you drifting & actively fights it. In a rally game? Dirt isnt perfect sure, & is more dodgy on asphalt. WRC is an improvement in that regard ONLY. Dirt 2.0 is far better in all other aspects.

DR2 seems like better, it is more mature in a sense the engine is build specifically for the game. on the other hand wrc is using UE4, a lot of parameters are not fine tuned, like the exposure setting in the gameplay (copit view)

Dirt Rally 2.0 all the way Try Argentina stages, it will make your eyes rolling. WRC is better because it has more and longer stages in different countries and the graphics are better other than that Dirt Rally is way better.

Dirt Rally 2.0 delivers a better rally experience. From the sound up to the car feeling. RWD cars in Dirt Rally 2.0 are much much better in every detail. Group B in Dirt Rally 2.0 is far way more brutal just like we can see from reality. Car mass transfer, suspension work and folding the rally car just before cornering is way superior in Dirt Rally 2.0. EA WRC isn't the same Codemasters quality as before and totally a downgrade so maybe next 2 years if they will want to deliver a better quality then yes but I'm not believe for this under EA. If you think that EA WRC wins then 100% for sure Mario Kart for you will be a SIM racing so far...

Default brightness is way to much on wrc have it set at 10 I think it looks much better.

Well right now I do have Dirt Rally 2 but not WRC by EA sports. I will say the winner for graphics is Dirt Rally 2 - more colorful and clearer and allot more scenic. WRC game graphics looks washed out and looks like you are in a haze all the time. and very sparce scenery The winner to looks like WRC by EA sports. Vehicle looks more drivable with the front end does not stick in the ground - doing corners looks easier to do and looks fun to drive. Dirt Rally 2 the front end is always stuck into the ground too much and get way too much oversteer with the back end swinging around too much. I find my Dirt Rally 2 a bit hard to control the vehicle and always struggling to fight it throughout the rally. So it depends on do you want better graphics or drivability. No clear winner to me.

iracing is not really a sim racer. kind of but not really.

At least yours went bad within the 2hrs mine worked great for two days before it started to die. black screens and then loading times went from 2 mins to 10mins and then crash. The refund should start from when it becomes full release, that would be fair.

If you want realistic damage, you cannot get better than BeamNG. If you hit something it's game over, most of the time.
