ACC vs iRACING. NORDSCHLEIFE

Here I set a lap at the 'Green Hell' on Assetto Corsa Competizione and iRacing to see which I prefer.
The opinions expressed in this video are from my personal experience, using a PC with an RTX 3070 GPU and triple 27" monitors at 1080p.
My wheelbase is the Simagic Alpha Mini with the FX Pro rim.
The pedals I'm using are Fanatec V3.
Your experience of both games may be completely different to mine based on your hardware, settings and personal preference.

I started simracing on ACC and spent a good 500 hours there... Switched to iRacing and never looked back. Booted up ACC a few weeks ago and literally couldnt believe how weird/off it feels. As you said, just so disconnected and rubbery.

ACC is almost entirely dependent on CPU and only a couple of cores. Your CPU is most likely not able to run Nords with those triples and epic settings. Surprised you didn't feel like you had 40 fps. Or maybe you did and just didn't recognize the issue. A 1080ti still performs quite well in ACC, but you really want a 5800x3d or a 7800x3d CPU now and Nords is more demanding than anything else by far. iRacing certainly has its pros, if it wasn't so disgustingly expensive I'd still be driving there too. The graphics are pretty awful and dated but you get used to it. Kind of like a World of Warcraft of simracing. GT3s however are something ACC will always do better as it's what the sim focuses on.

You're right, a CPU and GPU upgrade would certainly improve things visually. Mainly because I could run 1440p screens. The simplicity of iRacing's graphics make it cleaner and a lot less stressful on the eyes with my current setup. My biggest problem, however, is nothing to do with the graphics. I'm simply not feeling any real connection to car or the road and I don't remember it being so bad before the last few updates. As I say in the video, it's a personal thing. I've spoken to people with a similar setup to mine who prefer ACC in every way. 👍

I agree with what you're saying here. I feel that iRacing with the graphics has left it down a bit to give more systems a chance to run on it better and yet it looks a lot cleaner and less "fuzzy". I feel with ACC, I remember the graphics looking sharper but in the past year, something changed and it seemed to lose that clean focus look. I use VR rather than my screen as it saves me having to move my rig to my desk when I want to do some sim racing. I did however just upgrade my VR headset from the HTC-Vive to a Quest 3 and ACC does look a lot better. I'm also using a RTX 3070 for my GPU although I'm considering upgrading to a RTX 4070 ti in the near future. New subscriber btw.

Everything you say from 10:44 is why I switched from ACC to iRacing and can never look back, it's so far off it's actually annoying knowing how much time I wasted on it. ACC drives like a car that's had the spot welds removed from the frame, no chassis rigidity at all. Both axles seem like they're always trying to catch one another rather than working in sync, and the suspensions are broken too.

I agree with steering rotation. First thing after driving only iracing for 7 months, turned on acc and was like what the hell is going on. That rotation that was neccessery to turn in is crazy. So I put 540 degrees to make it better, but then FFB is weird. Then tune it in. All in all iracing feels better in terms of what I feel on my small R5 Moza..

The Breaking points ,throttle application and your lines were ????? LOL Seriously though you are right, the feel of ACC is nowhere near as connected as Iracing. Woolly would be the term I would use. I don't like GT3 cars and that all ACC has. I don't like the VR, in ACC. Its horrible. Even AC has much better VR. Who looks at the details at the side of the road, except when taking their first drives and looks, or are reviewing the software. I hate subscriptions and avoid them. Unfortunately sometimes, like Iracing or Zwift they have the best gameplay which keeps me coming back for more.

Ah man, I know. I've measured and adjusted everything over and over and that is the best I can get. The FOV is locked because I'm using triples so all I can adjust is distance, pitch and height.

@@LightningMagoo triple screen is tricky to adjust (I think it automatically adjust when you insert the bezels and such, I don't remember), also make sure you are using the right camera!
