Overwatch can totally make a matchmaking system that is more than just win / loss. Using the stats from player progression you can allow less SR for a loss if they did really well, or less SR if they got carried. Each character levels up relative to the work you do as the character so just being a heal bot won't automatically earn you less SR for a loss. 10k healing on moira would earn less than 10k on Ana etc. Thoughts?

as someone studying geology, hawaii was formed about 200 million years after pangaea from volcanic hotspots so for historical accuracy (and for johnny's argument) we should keep hawaii separate when the government merges the continents again

the whole 6v6 discussion is so annoying to hear from these guys who havent even played the 6v6 adjustments workshop code that shows definitively that it isnt having 6 people on each team that causes the problems. The problems always were and always will be separate from the number of players. Jaws is just wrong when he says that there isnt a difference between how often things die in 6v6 vs 5v5. Look at elims compared to damage done and its glaringly obvious that 6v6 is a more frag-heavy environment. Also as a dps player, there isnt a single instance where id rather play 5v5 with one mega tank rather than 6v6 with two tanks.

12:38 AVRL spitting facts, the whole OW community and OW culture in general has shrunk so much since OW1. The general gaming community isn't really that in tune or aware as much as they used to be with OW things now

the biggest thing about Overwatch Classic is how much of a quality of life the passive healing overtime is. the amount of times i hid behind cover or in a corner and waited to start healing and then realized "wait its not in this mode" is insane, i hope this shows people how far the game has come and how clunky, slow, and disorganized the game was in its first year.

I think people forget that Double shield and GOATS were not picked every single match in metal ranks. Often teams would lose trying to force these comps while they were meta, even in diamond. If they do bring these patches back people will remember why they were only hard meta in high ranks

Just wanna leave some thoughts here: I feel like the fun a lot of people are having with classic isn't nostalgia based. This is my anecdotal experience, but OW was my firat fps game when i was 15. My hands could barely function on my laptop keyboard and wireless mouse to play. I was 28 in the old numbered S1 rank system when that cane out and that was after playing the game every day for months. By the end of OW1 life cycle i was top 500 each season and managed to get to over 4.3k SR. I think a lot of content creators and people on this pod were in a very privledged position of being good at video games and good at OW when it cane out. For me, this mode allows me to actually experience the game because i know how to play and move around. Its like the hypothetical people ask "if you could go back in time with your knowledge now what would you do?" We are getting to live that real time. The mode is excillerating for that reason! And im so excited to get to experience the other eras of the game not being a low bronze players. I think other people are getting that same chance now too. Also i find it cosmically itonic and hilarious that Jaws and Custa refused to talk about anything 6v6 on plat chat cuz it would never happen. Yet here we are with tons of tests 😂
