Doesn't even make sense, it's like $500 to manufacture these things at best, and then the best tubes can cost no more than a grand or two. It's stupid these things cost more than $5k. Literally no reason why other than jacked up price.

This optic is best for 3 types of use cases: Pest control within 100 yards on a short, light build. Like a P90 or CP33 or 10/22 charger. Backpacking/survival. Think plane/boat survival rifle or multi hour hiking up in elevation. Those running short setups with a thermal/NV clip on infront (and/or a LAM). It's a niche optic that people either don't understand or realize it wasn't made or suited for them. Marketing is marketing. For this size and weight, there are PLENTY of compromises they won't tell you about. This the case of choose the cake or eat it, not both. A vortex PST 3-15 is the same price and will run circles around this optic, simply because it's not trying to hit that size and weight. I'd wager even an athlon helos btr gen 2 2-12 or a swampfox kentucky long 2-12 will have better glass clarity and a deeper FoV.

Gunna be hard to compete with the IRIS though. Also idk if I missed it.. are they still shooting for their original target of $1,600? Or are they going cheaper to compete more?
@leileijoker84653 күн бұрын
Ain't no way they can beat the price of holosun. From how he described it, sounds like this unit is near FP performance. If they can maintain the 1600 or below price tag, this device can still out compete all other US made units.
@PerFecTD0P3B013 күн бұрын
@ IRIS has pretty good damn performance. If it’s $1,200 or less I bet it could still compete just on the basis of being US made. $1,600 will be too large of a difference and other people will go for the IRIS. I have an IRIS and ngl I am impressed as hell with it.
@tylerfrogley12273 күн бұрын
The street price on the Holosun is near 850-950. Assuming the street price of this is still 1400ish, that’s nearly 550 for ammo or any other kit.

The Iris is also TINY, like shockingly small..that's a huge selling point even if the ACAL puts out a little more power

@BigScarab24 күн бұрын
Great overview of the DAGIR! I think I recall Pressburg estimating that a dagir C1 would probably not hit the civilian market for about five years or so. Most people probably don't care about it, the raid XE or the NGAL (Most people for instance have no idea that the C1 copies 5 out of the 8 fire modes of the DA, and 5/6 of the illuminator settings). The overlap between people who are interested in shooting under night vision and are willing to ball out on a LAM is quite tiny. Now that reasonably priced VCSELs are hitting the market with the IRIS, the ~3x price bump for a mawl or raid xe doesn't make a ton of sense unless you want the added features. It will be nice to have a true 12 o'clock IR laser with the DAGIR or ACAL, whenever they drop. Should make zeroing lasers much easier in practice and theory
