Thank you for sharing your opinion, @Fredieprayla. I understand that I may seem too young to talk about retirement, but I’ve learned that knowledge isn’t only measured by age but also by experience and research. I share these insights to help others start planning early, based on both my own experiences and lessons from those who have already retired. It's important to start early to secure a better future. I appreciate your feedback, and I hope you found some valuable information. 😊

Excellent topic Salee! You shared one of many general ideas how to get rich or what my wife and I always say, how to build wealth. There are many ways to build wealth and which one fits for you mostly depends on your personality traits. How’s your neuroticism trait, your agreeableness, your conscientiousness, are you introvert or extrovert. Allow me to share our personal journey in wealth building. First, as Filipinos ourselves we know from our friends and acquaintances that Filipinos are not good in wealth building. We are mostly focused on maintaining lifestyle. My wife and I learned and started building wealth the hard way. Bad experiences is truly an excellent teacher. We both have low on agreeableness trait and we have an introvert leaning personalities. So making sales and network are like climbing Mt. Everest for us. It’s not impossible but it will take LOTS of effort and energy for us to be successful in sales or networking. So we stick with what we’re good at: We searched for high paying jobs then aggressively saved for real estate investments, stock investments and trading derivatives. We are now on our early 50s and we own several properties in Ontario and Alberta. We’re able to send our kids to university without student debts. Actively managing our investments and allocate only 10% of it into trading. The most important part of our wealth building journey is the acknowledgment that everything we have is not our own. We are just God’s stewards. We are just God’s managers of His material properties. Always acknowledge Him by giving back to Him consistently. Tithing is important. Tithing is the easiest and simplest expression of our faith to Him.

What is the start up cost for all the business you mentioned? Any idea? Here is my suggestion. Since, the Almighty does not produce any more lands, the best investment OFWs should make is to invest in lands and properties. This is like saving money for a rainy day. You can sell it. Improve it. Or farm on it. Or live in it.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on retirement planning! I completely agree that passive income is key, especially as the cost of living continues to rise and unexpected expenses like hospital bills can add up. Investing in the stock market, building a business, and diversifying income streams are definitely solid strategies for securing a comfortable retirement. Your point about finding a reputable mentor for areas like Forex or stocks is important, too. Getting advice from experienced professionals who have proven success in these fields can make all the difference. I appreciate your suggestion and your detailed input! Wishing you the best on your journey to financial freedom and retirement!

I know it's needless to discuss the contributing factors why the sudden change of policy about TFW and International Students but if I make a list of some of the reasons, this is my list: 1. Inept political move. This is a huge immigration mistake during and after covid. Now, they're trying to correct the mistakes but not without the suffering of those who already spent lots of resources and time to come to Canada as TFW or International students. 2. Canadian citizens and permanent residents are already fed up with the entitlement and the rude and poor third world country mentality of some of the newcomers especially the east Indians. Some of them were observed pooping in Wasaga beach and in some public places. 3. Small businesses preferred to hire low wages TFW and students. Lots of jobs that are supposed to be for Canadian students are now gone. 4. Canadian productivity is declining. 5. There are some anecdotal stories that the hygiene culture in some if not most of the fast food restaurants are now so bad due to the Indian workers. Some videos were posted on X showing donuts in Tim Hortons with flies inside the display counter. 5. Canadians are tired of those feeling entiltled protesters (even though they're just on temporary visas). 6. to be continued.....

My advice, ditch the idea of having kids in your old age. Also NO Single mums. Its the main reason your costs will blow out in the long term. My biggest problem I have now is my 3 stepdaughters have become single mums and the three stepchildren are now being raised by me. I was doing ok until the little bastards were born, now 1.8 million pesos per year is not enough to run the household. No more holidays, no more foreign food, no time just stress everyday. I need to go back to wotk at 70 years old, after being here 30 years.

God bless on your decision to go back to Canada. I just wondered why you seem to say in this video you need financial freedom. But your channel description says you have earned financial freedom, thats why you moved back to the Philippines. It seems to me that you're going back to Canada to make more money, which means you ran out of money living in the Philippines. Please elaborate on your reasons in moving back to canada.
@salee_talks
@salee_talks 2 күн бұрын
Thank you for your thoughtful comment and concern! To clarify, our decision to go back to Canada isn’t solely about money. One of the main reasons is that our kids want to go to school in Canada, and we believe they’ve had enough time to experience and appreciate the culture here in the Philippines. Since we're dual citizens, we’re fortunate to be able to move freely between both countries as needed. It’s all about doing what’s best for the family at this time. I hope that clears things up! Thanks again for your support, and God bless!

How hard is it to transition from nursing to entrepreneur and influencer
@salee_talks

It’s definitely been a challenging journey. Moving from nursing, with its stability and structure, into entrepreneurship and influencing was a huge shift. I had to learn new skills which felt overwhelming at times. There were moments of doubt, but with persistence and support from my family, I’ve been able to navigate the challenges. Though it’s been hard, the freedom and flexibility I’ve gained have made it worthwhile. It’s a tough but rewarding path. Thanks for asking!

Ako kasi, nakakasawa naman kung laging ganoon ang araw-araw na ginagawa, diba!? Kaya ako, hindi man ako nakapag-migrate sa ibang bansa ay meron din naman akong ibang bahay or home na pwede kong puntahan or tirahan dito sa Pilipinas, just like having a house in city and the province. Mas maganda kasi kung may iba ka pang options para hindi ka ma-board. God bless, Ms. Sally!🙂

My comment above was based on my last visit to Canada last year as I was surprised how much prices have spiked after Covid and how much more it costs for services such as mobile plans and broadband. We live in HK which is always considered in the top 3 most expensive place in the world yet my wife and I noticed how much more expensive it is in Vancouver and Toronto for basic goods.
