Original NI-CD or upgrade to NI-MH? As you'll see later in the video, I decided to stick with the same chemistry as the original (Ni-Cd) since I'll be using the original Ni-Cd charger with these. Those old Ni-Cd chargers don't work well charging Ni-Mh (can overheat, damage them), so if you do wish to replace the cells with Ni-Mh technology, make sure you use a charger version that supports Ni-Mh.

I have an rc car that has gone through two of these style batteries and they are tough to find. I guess I'll just buy something that fits in the space and wire it up to the car. I tried doing this to the old original pack that came with the car but failed.

Yeah. Australian store sells new ones, but if you're not living there postage will be crazy.

@@CheapCheerful The current battery is on it's way out. I may buy a battery from amazon that fits in the space that this battery usually sits in and wire it up somehow or make it built-in to the car.

Great Video! I just bought a brand new, in box Tyco Slammer, they we're selling it at just 6 dollars, because in the store they hadn't the batteries. I don't think that I'll keep it in the box, and want to use it. What configuration do you recommend to build a battery with todays technology? Is there a 3d file for the case of the batteries for example? Which is the maximum mAh you would reccomend for a up to date home build pack of batteries? Sorry for the many questions, I'm just to excited because my cheap and cool buy. Thanks in advance!

Grrt to hear! Ooh a boxed slammer, nice! Honestly unless you feel like a challenge, I'd just try to buy a replacement. There is an Australian company who sells them cheap , depends how much postage costs but search NK-2927-BP. Otherwise yes there's a few 3D print files at thingiverse, I'd recommend Nimh however you can't charge nimh safely with the stock charger (overheats as it's meant for Nicd), so you need to find a Nimh version of the charger also, more recent versions by other companies made them. If you can't find that, Nimh is fine really, so long as you completely drain it on each go before charging. Good luck!

The pixie dust is Bicarbonate Soda, and it works by instantly drying and sealing the super glue :-) Give it a try, works like magic!

Today i glued the housing...the combination of superglue and baking soda is absolutely brilliant and like you said: "magic". Is there any house remedy to polish the surface, if i dont have plastic polish? Carpolish or toothpaste a possible option?

@@marchisio4639 Sorry I didn't see your comment until now, I assume you've already done but I'll answer anyway :) I've heard that toothpaste can work, and definitely car polish yes, though if you have one of those "magic eraser" sponges with some water, I find those work pretty good too. The AA doner? eBay, look for a 6V AA battery pack. Here's a start. ebay.us/P6pEdY Get one with 5xAA batteries inside so its same size.

I found I could order NK-2927 from Batteries Direct, delivered for $30 AUD. But another question - we are missed some of the foam missiles? Do you know any place your can buy those?
