look man, I gotta say it, from an outsider perspective, english dubs sucks a lot like, come from any culture with a strong voice acting culture and the difference is night and day the problem ain't the dubs, its the industry you currently have

I feel like this video entirely misses the point of "replay value". Multiplayer games offer no replay value at all, because you aren't replaying anything. Each match is a new experience, and if a multiplayer game starts to feel too samey each match, people abandon it. Replayability is an entirely different thing which exist in single player games and I feel like it's a question of personality as to whether people look for it or not. I personally get a great sense of enjoyment from mastering things and get a sense of comfort from that which is familiar, as well as enjoying novelty. Consequently, most of my favourite games emphasise deep mechanics, hidden details, and good level/mission design, such as Crash Bandicoot, Devil May Cry, and even Nier Automata. Many times, I've found repeat playthroughs of a game significantly more enjoyable on a second or third playthrough. In fact, there are some games, like the Witcher 3, which I didn't even like at all on my first playthrough. The more familiar I get with a game, the more I begin to understand the things which show how well designed it is, the more I appreciate them and come to regard them as my favourites. In fact, if on a second playthrough I find myself not discovering something I missed or feeling like I've got a greater understanding of its mechanics, the more I then discard it as not a favourite. Horizon Zero Dawn was like that me. It felt mechanically shallow and I'd already seen everything there was to see, and thus was not as enjoyable to me. Every time I replay Bloodborne, I discover that I've got better, or notice something new, or try a different build. Video games are video games, not movies. That isn’t to say that games like Persona or Fire Emblem are wrong to focus a lot on dialogue and story, because they do it correctly by presenting it in a game-like fashion where you are progressing things and building a relationship with characters instead of just holding up on the stick as characters walk forward or watching unskipable cut scenes.

Pokémon was never that good. Sure, it was a great game, but when they post the same game with a slightly different story and a different starter it just gets bland. Tell me the difference in gameplay between 2d rpg Pokémon games, and let’s pretend mega evolutions don’t exist. Yea, not much difference besides new Pokémon and new moves. It’s practically the same game every release

These kind of videos always interest me because I have a somewhat unique perspective of anime. I didn’t start watching anime until I was already living in Japan and learning Japanese. I went in to the media already able to understand the differences between anime culture and actual Japanese culture/spoken word, so seeing western people who obsess over anime as if that’s all there is to japan has always been a little confusing for me. I’m happy that they like japan, but wish for them to see it as more than just the place where anime comes from

It's all fun and games until they remake or remaster something you're a little too familiar with and now you can't fart without tripping over phrases like "it was good for its time but doesn't hold up to modern standards" when trying to find a copy of the original version.

I've never personally had an issue with the new gen pokemon designs or regions or characters really. My only gripe was when they moved on from gen 6 and dipped from the national dex and went to full 3D. I would have rather seen that extra cart space go to a gold/silver style design where they have multiple regions with an expansive story that made you want to keep playing for hundreds of hours (HG/SS are still my fav) maintaining a pseudo-3d style top down game with pokemon sprites, rather than the move to full 3D. I definitely have gotten older and certainly have a place in my heart for those old games, and while I don't HATE the newer gen games, I do feel like something was lost along the way in the "pokemon game experience". I always just wanted the games to get bigger and more jam packed with content and regions and pokemon to collect but after gen 6 especially, they fully ditched their own tag line of "gotta catch em all" and it just feels like a bummer. I'm glad there are folks who enjoy the newer games and still have a passion for pokemon, though I wouldn't be unhappy if I saw a return to form, even if it were brief. Imagine a gen 1-4 combo game since they're all technically japan regions (though the fan made pokemon mmo kinda does that already). Thanks for the vid ^_^

The reason why Hollywood constantly fails at making live action anime is because they’re made by people who have no passion for the medium. Just look at live action Cowboy bebop for instance. The people who worked on it hated anime. One piece live action worked because it was made by people who were fans of One Piece.

Watching this video, I’m reminded of an interview with Mark Hamill talking about how he had once begged George Lucas to remove a cringy line from the script of “A New Hope.” The line was something like “But we can’t turn back now! Fear is their greatest defense, and I doubt their security is any better than it was on Aquilae or Sullis and anything they did have would be geared towards a full scale assault!” To which Hamill responded to Lucas “who talks like this, George?” Anime is like watching a show where everyone talks in similarly cringy lines and you’re constantly asking yourself “who talks like this?”

There’s got to be a valid reason why people love this garbage medium right? I mean the answer can’t just be that “it’s for social rejects” cause Anime is literally the fastest growing Asian medium in the west, even surpassing stuff like k-dramas.

@Grudgebearer47

@@zach415 Star Wars prequels are also among the most ridiculed movies out there because of their poor dialogue. Even the third movie which is the most critically acclaimed of the bunch is made fun of in the same light. Anime like attack on Titan, Frieren, death note, and other popular anime aren’t treated like that, they’re usually regarded as masterpieces even if their dialogue isn’t very natural.
